So....who leaked the Bush Video to Matthews? The one about Katrina |
|
Edited on Wed Mar-01-06 10:31 PM by KoKo01
showing he was warned on August 20th of the danger of the Levee's breaking in New Orleans?
The video showed Bush looking like he was in a "Bunker" with Max Mayfield head of US Weather Service on a video feed warning that NO's was in terrible danger. The video looks like Bush was in a "Bunker" or a closed room like the stuff that went on in the Soviet Union during the Cold War where the "Politboro" met in secret. Video only shows one person on the left and I can't make out the man's face.
Who leaked this to Matthews? CNN mentioned the news that Bush was "WARNED' before Katrina struck but didn't have access to the video.
WHO THE HELL would think of leaking anything to that "AH" Matthews in the first place...but who was it ......? Any Thoughts?
It had to be someone in that room with Bush...and we know that NO ONE LEAKS without expecting dire reprisals in the Bush Fiefdom. So who would have had access to that tape to leak it?

9. My first thought was Brownie...but how could he get a tape of this? |
|
It must be an official White House Tape because Bush is in that weird room...and we know Bushies guard everything. So, it had to come from the White House official videos. Unless Brownie was sitting way opposite Bush and had a hidden teeny camcorder...how could he have taped it?
If it wasn't "Brownie" then who is the mole..? Who would have enough power to bypass Bush and the closed WH security apparatcheks to leak that tape?

2. The AP had it right from the beginning |
|
It was released by FEMA or the WH the day that it was shot (Aug 28). It's just that everyone forgot about it

12. My understanding is that Matthews said August 20th....sorry, I must have |
|
misheard it. Still the 28th does make it the day before Katrina hit meaning they should have known what was coming and it's just like 9/11...they always claim they know NOTHING!!!

13. Matthews made a big deal of this saying it was his "exclusive" and CNN |
|
didn't show the tape but mentioned they had a picture of Bush from the tape. If it's old AP Footage then why did CNN treat it as a breaking story saying they had a photo but Matthews had the whole tape.
There must be something new about this or Matthews wouldn't have pumped it as "exclusive."

Loyalty is a one-way street for George Bush Junior. He'll throw you overboard in a heartbeat if it will save his ass. Dick Cheney is next, mark my words.

16. Down which page? Which forum is it in? Here's a tip to copy and paste: |
|
Just put your pointer over the DU address in your upper screen and highlight then right click "copy." Come over here and right click "paste" and we can get the link.
Otherwise just hilight your whole post by right clicking with your mouse and hitting "copy" and then come and "paste" the post into this forum.
Hope this helps...I'd like to read your post. thanks!

If you look at the cut-away you will see a room full of cameras.
I wonder if Brownie "jogged" their memory though.

14. I remember seeing that before, during all the footage while the storm |
|
was still being covered pretty extensively.
It was part of a documentary that someone must have put together very quickly. I remember it started out with the narrator saying that 'it started with a small wave off the coast of Africa' ~ and it showed a little wave, and then showed people unaware of any impending danger in NO ~
It was really well done, I remember, and I am fairly certain that Max Mayfield was the weather man who would not go home before he spoke to Bush et al, because he realized how bad this was going to be.
I remember also being stunned when they showed him (I can't remember if he was actually in the same room as Bush or on a monitor) warning Bush et al that was going to be the one everyone had been dreading.
Maybe because there was so much news on TV about the storm back then, this went unnoticed or something. I actually forgot it until now ~ I hope they show that documentary again ~
Someone must have realized he was lying and went back and got it. But I do remember seeing them getting the warning from the weather man, who had hesitated at first, but then said he had to warn everyone ~ and insisted on talking to Bush ~
We are being lied to all the time, about everything even when they know there is evidence of the lies. Why are they so unafraid of consequences? At least in the past, they tried to hide their lies. This crowd lies to with impunity and doesn't seem to care who knows ~

19. That's really interesting. It must mean that MSNBC dug up the footage |
|
and allowed Matthews to call it an exclusive. And, CNN which must have had the same footage in their archives allowed Blitzer to say it was "new video" and say they only had a "picture" therefore giving credit to Matthews for an "exclusive" when all along CNN had the same stuff.
Weird! and disgusting that they would take old footage and turn it into some "breaking news" thing. Whatever...I'm glad at least they went back to it. Some effort being made there by the "whore media."

15. It was one of those "we've got things under control" PR tapes |
|
that was distributed to the media at the onset of the storm.....so that they could reassure residents of the affected area.....during the Hurricane.
Someone must have "reminded" AP (pointing this out to a wire service made lotsa sense!) that of the PR tapes' existence.....someone who was either there during the filming....
Guess the Bushes forgot about that bit of PR work!

26. Yes, Keith Olbermann seems to be the only one who remembered it. |
|
Didn't he say last night that it had been distributed to all the networks in the beginning? Chris Matthews is too dumb and disinterested to have remembered, same goes for Wolfy ~ but Keith did say it was not new.
I agree that it may have been used to show that Bush was not 'eating cake and playing the guitar' in the beginning, and they may have released it for that reason back then.
But Brownie was not going to take the blame ~ and rightfully so ~ I remember how awful Chertoff was at the time, and have been wondering why he has been let off the hook. At the time, I remember him saying that he had not realized how bad things were until about Wednesday when he saw it all on television.
Brownie's lawyers may have called the networks, who knows? But it has a whole different meaning now and I'm glad it was brought to the attention of the public. Now they need to have more hearings, imo, and Bush et al need to be fired ~ it's mind-boggling the danger they pose to both Americans and citizens of other countries, and yet there's no real movement to get them out of office ~
