I felt the waters move
my limbs,
leaves green and new.

The winds directing
winds between
the fibres
of my being.

I felt the earth shake once.
I felt the sun most days.
I felt the large amphibian
curl round
me in peace.

I felt the egret
pinch at me
to hold against the earth.

And shit on me
to nourish me
as rains came once again.

I heard the chainsaw
I felt the teeth

cutting through the years
of me

reaching deep
into my heart.

I sigh

one final time

and wait to see
what's next.
