1. People with food allergies will be at risk
My daughter is deathly allergic to peanuts, all tree nuts and mangos.

She has been taught from an early age to read labels and ask questions before eating anything.

This is a life-or-death issue for people with food allergies.

several Dems have gotten up to speak against it, but Gingrey is the only Repug I've heard shilling for it, I think he was the one that wrote it.

10. Hope they don't do this to dog foods.
Edited on Thu Mar-02-06 12:44 PM by janeaustin
I have an older dog with a brain tumor (treated with surgery and radiation, so we're hopeful).

His brain, however, has been so traumatized that he throws seizures if he eats the smallest amount of rosemary.

I know this sounds crazy, but we have enough anecdotal evidence to keep him far, far away from rosemary, and I have to read labels to make sure.

This rosemary/seizure connection is seen in humans, too, so I'd think keeping this law in effect would be pretty important to those dealing with epilepsy.

(edited to add last sentence.)

7. So they don't care if people get sick?
They are trying to get the corporations more profits. By not listing ingredients on food, people will be unaware of the junk they use and will buy it. Republicans are so rotten.
