How many Freepers wanted mid90s anti-terror legislation passed then? |

How many Freepers wanted terrorists and their funding networks tracked with legislation submitted in the mid90s?
How many Freepers wanted Gore's airport proposal for stricter scrutiny passed?
How many Freepers wish Bush had read and acted on the urgent anti-terror warnings and proposals that were submitted in the Hart-Rudman Report on Global Terror?
Seems to me they all would've made a huge difference in whether or not a 9-11 would have happened.
Good Democrats and real patriots worked on legislation throughout the 90s and up to Jan 2001 to stop the advancement of terrorism and especially to block terrorists at their funding roots. Most of the GOP did everything they could to block those REAL and needed anti-terror efforts.

4. True. But Dems need to understand that SOME Dems were on top of the issue |
|
and spearheaded alot of the necessary legislation for years before it got snapped up by BushInc pretending they were competent.

2. Remember when Clinton alerted us to the possible danger |
|
of a millennium attack and alerted airports, border crossings, etc. to this possibility? No one gave him credit for trying to get the message out to all relevant agencies.
Then doofus gets in office and totally ignored the terrorist issue and beats the drum for star wars. He even gets a heads up with his Presidential Daily Briefing that Osama is gonna get us and he files it away somewhere - continues his vacation. Uncurious George, nothing phases him.

3. Clinton treated Americans like CITIZENS - giving them needed information |

on the current terror alerts then.
BushInc didn't trust American adults with information about terror warnings - they may have been alert ad could have stopped intended attacks. I side with LIHOP.

5. Most of them complained that the measures would cost too much. |
|
They did not want to part with the money. Unfortunately, the cost for not implementing those measures cost more than money now.

8. Thanks to the corporate media choosing THAT as the issue instead of terror |

as a potential future crisis.
