The guest on C-SPAN did a good job explaining difference in bribes...
...and contributions. At least two ditto heads called in, almost directly parroting Rush Limbaugh, to suggest that Democrats had taken money from the same groups. The lady guest explained very well that there is a a difference in "illegal" contributions and "bribes", although many of the contributions were not "illegal". And that many Congresspeople were giving the money back because they did not want to be connected to it in anyway. It does not mean that everyone that took contributions from the Indian tribes are guilty of a crime, Republicans or Democrats. They seemed to have a difficult time understanding the difference?

1. I've always thought that "contributions"
was just a polite word for bribes. Or is it a coincidence that nice things seem to happen for people making generous "contributions" just like those that pay bribes?

2. Seemed To Have A Difficult Time?
Of course they have a difficult time understanding the difference. They never understood that Clinton's lying under oath was not perjury because they never grasped materiality.

This should surprise you Kentuck. These people are willfully ignorant and simply not that bright.

3. But I didn't hear her actually say that Dems DID NOT receive
any money directly from Abramoff. And the caller spouted out all these contributions to Dems and said they were from Abramoff. I sent an email - but of course, they didn't read.

I thought Ms Sloan was on the "underinformed" side. Except for what you say above.

5. Yes, she did GREAT. She also said giving away the $$ wouldn't
make a bribery charge go away!

6. She did a good job..
handling some of the ditto head phone calls - you were basically using the tired ol whining about
'but the dems do it too'. They are definetly trying to associate dems to this scandal in are succeeding to some extent in the media.
