That will stand, shoulder to shoulder, arm in arm, hand in hand with you.

I am every man that knows not the ramifications that you face, the anguish you may feel, nor the weight upon your shoulders as you make a decision that no man will ever face as you do.

I am every man that believes that choice, decision and belief lies with the woman in scenarios that spell out their lives.

I am every man that will stand silently behind this woman, in support, in care, in solidarity.

I am every man that will do what I can do guarantee her safe delivery, in whatever choice she makes.

I am every man that is indeed, a man.

1. I know that I, for one, appreciate men who stand beside us in this battle.

As a woman, this is a big issue in my life; but as a lesbian, it is not the biggest concern in my day-to-day life. I stand beside straight women who must agonize over this choice. I also stand by those women who were impregnated against their will; their decision whether or not to bring the pregnancy to term being the only choice they have.

I never meant for this to be anything more than a response to the original post. However, as I see the responses, I know that what I, and what so many other men are doing to back our sisters, is right. I'll continue to fight, as will my brothers for our sisters.

23. Having been on the frontlines in the 70's

I know that we did not get the right to chose without men standing with us in the struggle. Thanks for leaving that post. I recall marching in St. Paul, under threat of snipers, from my liberal college (Macalester) to the capitol building, I know we women appreciated the support of our brothers.
