Just days after our president chimp told American workers to keep their collective chins up about globalization, the AT&T smells-like-monopoly buyout, we learned, is probably going to cost us 10,000 jobs.
Job cuts, which are about 3 percent of total employment, represent about 50 percent of the planned $18 billion in cost savings AT&T expects to extract from the purchase.

In the last month they have reacquired Southwestern Bell and now Southern Bell. They shouldn't have even bothered breaking them up. They have already raised the SWB users rates. Once again they are the only phone company in town & are acting like it!
