5. Your POST....What a bore....I'm switching to Al Franken! |
|
What is it with all the anti-Al Franken posts as of late? It seems to be the trendy thing to do. If you don't like Al, who cares? You don't see people randomly posting "Letterman....what a bore..." because no one cares about trivial opinions like that.
Are you just trying to be trendy and fit in with the other NEGATIVE ATTITUDE kids? You are doing a good job!

We listen to AAR during the day. We enjoy him. Yeah, once in a while he can be a little annoying or boring but so is my husband. Besides, Al gives me weekly guests like Norm Ornstein, Joe Conanson, Melanie Sloan and David Brock.

You just gave me a blast from the past. I'm a big Kansas fan - fourth generation Jayhawk - that was raised in Oklahoma. Some of my fondest memories of my childhood are the times when my family (me, my siblings*, mom, dad and assorted friends) would gather on our rooftop to listen to KU games - both basketball and football - whenever the reception was bad. The radio reception was good enough that we could listen to games in the comfort of the house most of the time but every once in a while we all ended up on the roof. Now, thankfully, we have sports packages.
I have nine siblings who are all KU fans. The number of us on the roof depending on what year it was.

some days I prefer to listen to Thom Hartmann. I hope that Thom is the regular replacement if Al runs for Senate.

16. Hartmann comes on before Al on KPOJ |
|
so they aren't mutually exclusive. Some days we listen to Hartmann on KPOJ and some days we listen to Springer. Just depends on what mood we're in.

18. Thom's not on in NYC at all... |
|
except the weekend replay of the Friday show. Sometimes I listen to Al and then pick up Thom on White Rose Society's replay. That works, too.

otherwise the only one I'd have a chance to listen to is Ed Schultz as he's the only one carried locally (that I can pick up reliably on the radio).
