I would like to personally thank Sen. Chuck Shumer....
For making people aware of the ports sale issue. I am convinced that the Repubs would have done nothing if Shumer had not pressured the White House on this issue. The sale would have gone through. Chuck Shumer and the Democrats deserve all the credit. The Repubs jumped on board with the Democrats out of political paranoia - not because they were concerned about the port sale. Duncan Hunter and the other Repubs would have been silent about this issue if not for Chuck Shumer.

1. Yes, I think you're right. More than a few people came face to face with
reality over this one.

2. Well...Menendez from NJ was the "first" out of the box...but yeah...
Schumer deserves some credit...yet why do I worry about him. Not thinking he doesn't have a "dog" somewhere in there with Bush's name on it.

But...can't be paranoid 24/7...let's give some credit..even if it might not be as good as we really think it is for our cause...

4. He really does deserve most, if not all, of the credit, which I'm certain
the M$M will dole out to Republicans. At least so far, they are telling it like it is, in that they are really more concerned about re--election than about security, and for this main reason are distancing themselves from this very selfish and unpopular stance of B*tard.

Let's make this congratulations and Thanks to Senator Shumer a DU thank-you thread.

:kick: and R!

5. Schumer has been complaining about port security
since 9/11. He repeatedly pointed out that only 5% of the stuff entering is checked.
