I will grant Biden one thing
(Despite his support of the bankruptcy bill)

he nailed the truth on MTP when he pointed out, forcefully and clearly, that the insurgency in Iraq is far beyond the "war on terror," that if all al Queda were eliminated tomorrow, there would still be a large insurgency on the ground in Iraq.

1. Agree
I heard him too on mtp, speaking very clearly. No shilly-shally equivalcating. A good sign that the worm is turning.

2. I would have no problem supporting Biden IF he got the nomination
for '08.

No, I don't agree with him on everything. But overall, I think Biden
would be a great leader.

Ok - let the flame wars begin.
They always do when I say I like Biden.

3. I respect Biden
but I couldn't "forgive" the bankruptcy vote, which was profoundly un-Democratic.

5. undoubtedly it does.
corporate-whore kingdom and home to much of the credit card industry

but the bankruptcy bill was still an unconscienable sell-out.

7. Biden used to be higher on my list of people I could accept at the top
He's slipped some, however.

I generally like his demeanor, his ability to be comfortable and somewhat engaging on TV, and his middle political rep.

I'm all about who or what can get elected, and if he can, he goes up in my book.

If he doesn't keep his hair cut, it won't matter, because that eerie ducktail reminder of an aging LBJ is troubling.

8. I think more times than not, despite his centrism
he sticks to Democratic principles

That's why the bankruptcy bill was such a disappointment to me.

6. I have to say ...
That is one of the VERY few times that a D has been able to get into a mainstream media situation, call this admin on its incompetence in a strong and direct way on a number of issues, and not get smacked down ... Even having an R senator next to him, Allen, let most of it go ... No snarky comments from Russert ...

11. Problem with Joe is that he is as consistent as a fart in a windstorm
I admit he did OK today but its like he has a week now to think about being too harsh on DimBulb which makes him feel guilty and come next Sunday he will be right back to the same old "the window is closing in Iraq" crapolla. "The president needs to get right on these problems in Iraq or the window will close for us" he will say. He has been saying that on and off for three years now.
