AmericaBlog: Danger Will Robinson, new Bush talking point revealed
Just got an email from an observant reader who noticed that conservative pundit Bill Kristol is starting to use, repeatedly, a new talking point that must have come from the White House. Mark my (or my reader's) words, let's see if anyone repeats this phrase this week:

"The war against radical Islam (ists, ism, etc)"

Kind of sad how Bush thinks his problem in Iraq is that he hasn't found the right word to name the battle. For a White House that says they don't care about the polls, that's ALL they try to do on Iraq, is influence the polls.

Sad.

3. The War against Radical Islam instead of the War Against Terror?
Gee, somehow that doesn't sound like it requires such radical action as invading other countries.

13. so is it a CRUSADE yet?
I saw jUNior* jabbering and yammering about getting Americans' 'optimism' back in line with his. We just have not been optimistic enough? Oh well, no one ever said magical thinking wasn't their strong point.

4. I've been noticing this for a few months now ..

(I research the Religious Right for some orgs) this is a particularly popular point with the Religious Reich sheeple.

Good point - we have to keep the fact of this rhetoric in mind - and call them on this racism!

And, I agree, I started noticing this rhetoric growing madly - and it does seem to be aimed at getting the sheeple ready to accept Iran.

5. That's Been Around For A While
It became morphed into "Islamo-Fascist".

Yep...it's a one-size, fits-all way of grouping Al Queda, Saddam Hussein, Hamas and any Arab that boooosh and his cabal don't like.

7. That term drives me crazy.
"Islamo-Fascist."

I told my father-in-law that none of his villains were corporatists, another word for 'fascist.'

And that the worst corporatists I knew came from the good ol' U.S.A., and were self-identified "Christians," who openly expressed their preference for international corporate domination. Of course, they just phoney-baloney members of the Religious Reich Political Apparatus.

But that term just drives me crazy - it's a stupid term ("Islamo-Fascist"), confusing a religious identification with a governmental concept.

16. Turn the Tables
"Is your War on Radical Islam being fought by Radical Christians?"

We can all understand a "War on Terror" even if we disagree on how to fight it. But if this numbnut believes that he can declare war on a religion, it's going to backfire.

Suppose some nation decides to declare war on "Radical Christians?"

Would that be acceptable to the World Community? Where do most Radical Christians live? If some nation chooses to launch an attack on Radical Christians, how many innnocent, non-Radical Christian people will die?

Declaring war on a brand of faith is ridiculous. How about this is 2006 and you might want to find out what it is these people want instead of blowing their babies to bits? Sometimes it seems the Radical Christians and the radical Muslims want the same damned thing. If one is wrong, they are both wrong.
