Tweety's network show was a BASH on Senator CLINTON
Edited on Mon Mar-13-06 09:17 AM by UTUSN
Not that there was actual NEWS to discuss, like, Shrub's worst week and deadly polls. Oh, he and his smiling zombies spent about a MINUTE on the ports. But the clear theme-o'th'day was about how ROVE and MEHLMAN have "started the campaign EARLY" and labelled her as "ANGRY" and "BRITTLE" and how she has "TAKEN THE BAIT". Except for Clarence PAIGE, it was angry-brittle/brittle-angry all around for about 15 of the 22 minutes show. But, glory be, when the topic changed to Mitt ROMNEY the air cleared right up, and this group had nary a discouraging word, and only played like antelopes on the fruited plain.

(Yes, I know. And, no, I didn't expect other.) I just hadn't seen Tweety's network show and it was surprising how FIVE participants could be crammed into 22 minutes, and the naugahyde chairs and the drugged-up SMILING was just bizarre.

On edit: And the recurring word was that it was the Repuke strategy to target her, so WHO was doing all the targeting endlessly----why, Tweety and his smiling zombies.

2. I think it's a little different
But yeah, both Karl Rove and much of DU hope to thwart Hillary Clintons supposed political ambitions, although for different reasons and in different ways.

10. for the record, I'm more concerned about the PUSH for her candidacy
than I am about her personally.
I'm rather suspicious of the whole Rove/DLC push for her to be our "best candidate".
I don't think she's our best candidate, for the simple reason of her voting record on Iraq, and that she's an obvious negative lightning rod for right wingers, which will bog down the campaign even worse.

I think our BEST candidate is Conyers or Boxer, Feingold or just about anyone other than Clinton. If she becomes the nominee, we're toast.

17. See I think they are pushing her so we don't pick her like Dean & Clark
Either way it is a shame when we rival and win when it comes do dissing HC.

She's not running in 08, so while we worry about her we're not concentrating on 2k6 and we will lose our asses.

No impeachment and I'll be fuckin pissed if we let the RNC play in our game.

I am not a ROVE/DLC :tinfolhat: Personally I think those who concentrate more on that than they 2 Dems as a whole are wrecking the party too.

That's how the whites have controlled the blacks. We've fought among each other and we haven't united to fight the racism. That is why racism is still rampant.

So DO all you want with the ROVE/DLC and continue to make that split. While everyone is fighting on the bench no one is watching the RNC/ROVE doing Harlem Globetrotter style dunkin on the court.

Personally if you're a Democrat I'm fine with that. I'm not gonna fight you or campaign against you. IF you are running I support you I may not like you but I support you. I may not agree with you 100%, 75%, 50%, 25% but if you're going against a Rethug I'm behind you 100%.

18. does your post come with a decoder ring? *scratches head*
I think you're dissing what I said, but can't really tell for sure.

at any rate, to clarify: I'm not saying Rove is directing the DLC, I'm saying BOTH Rove and the DLC are pushing Clinton, as far as I can tell. I don't feel comfortable with that, at this point. I find the PUSH to make her candidate AT THIS POINT raises red flags in my mind.

the rest of your post I don't understand, so I guess I won't comment.

19. Nope not dissing. Right now however DLC/Rove thing has to go
on the back burner. We need to win 2k6. I could give a RATS ASS about Hillary.
I agree that the RNC and Rove are pushing her.

4. I saw a post-view of that on the Today show this morning, and
they said Mitt Romney got second place, thanks to his stance on gay marriage.

Then they flashed to a sound bite of him saying, "Every child in America deserves to have a mother and a father!"

What a horrible person.

13. Even if that mother and father are dysfunctional? Seriously?
I didn't watch one second of this farce. When I saw the ads stating it was "Straw poll to select the President" or some propagandist nonsense, I decided right there it was fixed.

14. Yeah, well, we should start doing the same thing.
It's no different than presenting the nominee or candidate as, "The next President of the United States," in principle.

But yeah, the people that propose that cite studies that say children do better in a traditional nuclear family than they do in a gay couple family.

By that rationale, you'd think they would also want to ban child-rearing for alcoholics, felons, drug-addicts, the mentally ill, etc...

The eventual candidate would be a fool not to attack this bizarre stretch of reason, but I'm willing to bet right now that our eventual nominee, barring a progressive miracle, will try to agree/outflank them with some bizarre parsing of words that basically says, "Yeah, uh, I think the traditional family structure is really important, but uh, er, <change the channel>."

6. Given the guest list, it would have been a huge surprise if it wasn't
Let's invite the entire RepubliCON leadership on and talk trash about the presumptive opposition nominee. These people and their pet media must be overcome!

Which leads to an issue I am afraid we are not paying nearly enough attention to & that ids the internet. They are actively working to limit our ability to use it for political purposes so we must be vigilant. I recommend everyone join the Electronic Frontier Foundation which is an organization working to prevent this type of thing.

The internet is our only means to create an effective alternative media until we can get the fairness doctrine reinstituted and enact laws to prevent concentration of media ownership.

11. Joined EFF after they sent
a lawyer here to defend our Voter Verified Paper Ballot bill in NC from being dismantled. We fought for the bill and then Diebold sued us...EFF sent a lawyer to defend us. I immediately signed up.

It is frightening that they are working to limit our internet use. They need to cut off the source of free information and searches to survive.
It's hurting them badly to have "a free press" out there, and I hope that EFF and the other group that fights for internet freedom can have enough funds to fight this. Or...we will have Bushbots forever running our Govt. :-(

The Electronic Privacy Information Center? I am very interested in this particular topic, I am glad to hear that my dollars are being put to good use. They are few, they probably only paid for about ten minutes of that lawyer's time.

edit to add forgotten link

8. If not that then he might have actually had to discuss how his
hero John McCain was a loser in the Southern Leadership Conference straw poll.

I have almost completely weened myself from his show because it is so NOT reality.

9. Wasn't the propaganda labelled something like
"Choosing the Next President." Then Tweety surrounds himself with a bunch of repukes to talk about who the repukes will pick next time - like whoever the Dems choose doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell from the getgo.

God, these whores are shameless.
