Man Charged With Raping, Killing 7-Month-Old Niece

A 32-year-old Ohio man was arrested and charged over the weekend with raping and killing his 7-month-old niece.

Police in Waynesburg said Henry Anthony Sunderman, 32, called 911 Friday.

When emergency crews responded, they found Zoey Sunderman unresponsive. The 7-month-old later died in the hospital.

After questioning Sunderman, the man was arrested at his Canton home.

Officers said the man was caring for the infant, along with her 5-year-old brother and two sisters while their mother was at work.

It seems he is saying that straight Repubs are obviously more dangerous than gay Dems. In other words, gay Dems are harmless, and wouldn't doing anything as horrific as that.

The reason I ask is that with most threads--the ones labeled "graphic" or "warning"--there's the option to not look. But when something is spelled out like this right smack in the middle of the GD, there isn't that choice. Of course we can't or shouldn't close our eyes to the horrible things that happen in this world, but we really only have a duty to know about them when our knowledge can be turned into something useful. In this case, the baby is dead and the man is going to jail, and my horror and nausea (I nearly threw up when I read the heading) serves no purpose at all.

I haven't read the story--the title of this thread tells me much more than I want to know. I'm certainly not asking that stories like these not be posted--I just came in to ask that a little more restraint be taken when composing subject headings, please.

I'm sorry folks can't soft soap all the threads for you but I don't think the OP has a responsibility in this case to change a headline in order not to offend your sensibilities. In fact, it would have been disingenuous for the OP to have soft-soaped the subject line only to have folks click on it and find out it was about a baby being raped. The subject header was warning enough.
