gives Pretzel boy inherent power in article II. But I'm looking for it in article II as we speak. Where is it? And what could they possibly interpret in this manner? Nothing about article II gives him authority on these matters. All that applies to this issue is "unreasonable search and seizures".

Are they banking on folks never reading the constitution? Or are they actually interpreting something?

This is the closest article II comes to anything of the sort. YOu'll note that the constitution gives no authority over citizens of the U.S. other than to grant reprieves and pardons for Offenses against the U.S. except impeachment: which means only after the judicial branch has passed judgment. There is no such thing as "inherent power".

Section 2 - Civilian Power over Military, Cabinet, Pardon Power, Appointments
The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States; he may require the Opinion, in writing, of the principal Officer in each of the executive Departments, upon any subject relating to the Duties of their respective Offices, and he shall have Power to Grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offenses against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.
