V For Vendetta - Most Dangerous Film of the Year?
There are two articles I found that deal with the political message of this film and comparisons to the Bush administration. One says it's a really dangerous film for Bush and his supporters.

http://www.rollingstone.com/reviews/movie/_/id/7222868/rid/9440903/?rnd=1142364239203&has-player=unknown

So who is going to see it? Or has anyone here seen one of the early screenings?

6. Starting to make sense
Drudge has been attacking this movie for weeks now, and I couldn't figure it out. Now with this post, and an earlier article by Richard Roeper, it's starting to be clear.

Remember when ABC refused to let her campaign shirt on camera during an interview?

8. Interesting and ironic, considering the book was written in
THE EARLY NINETIES! It really deals with the universal (or at least earthly) theme of absolute power corrupting and leading to a dictatorship that inevitably leads to revolution.

The pukes will just be upset because they will think it is aimed at fearless leader.

It looks like a cool, sci-fi, futuristic tale. I love movies and books that deal with the societal changes, etc. that exist in non-present settings much more than ones that simply displace a shoot-em-up into the future.

12. late 80's actually
directed at Margaret Thatcher. And the authors of the book have removed their names from this production, the writing equivalent of an "Alan Smithee Movie"

13. Alan Moore Hates Hollywood
He feels they butchered his League of Extraordinary Gentlemen comic. No matter how good this movie is he refuses to even see it.

9. uh, it has Natalie Portman in it, right?
then I'll be there. and not just because she's good on the eyes, because she is a fabulous actor. There are dozens of people who are 'good on the eyes'

14. Haha...
...one of the reviewers calls it an "al Queada recruitment video in comic book form".

F'n pinheads. Of course, they completely don't see the parallels between the government of the film/comics and our own. Or maybe they do, and that's ok with them.

18. Pretty soon the American Revolutionary War will be considered
al Quaeda recruitment.

19. I might go.
I haven't went to a movie since Jurassic Park. I usually wait and see them on dvd. This one they may have hyped enough to get me to do it. It depends on what the reviewers (you guys) say this weekend here.

24. 2 critics I've seen/heard so far have panned it
One said the Wachowski brothers have written an awful script (and personally, I thought the Matrix scripts were awful as well), but didn't direct, which is what they're good at; instead their old assistant director directed, and he just isn't up to the job. The other (the BBC's film programme presenter) said he is a big comic/graphic novel fan, and gave it one of the worst reviews I've ever heard him give. Here is a short version of it: If it had been called V for Vasectomy I could scarcely have found it a less enjoyable experience
