Tell them it is time for the party and the dem senators to stand up for what is right.

Bush Broke the law ..... Feingold is the real patriot ..... and all those jack asses calling

1. I wrote 'em, and pardon the rant but...
How can they expect us to support them, when they have no guts, repeat, no guts at all? Do they think if all of us lefties desert them, they would have a prayer? What planet are they living on? It appears they think they can go on as merely the lesser of two evils, and of course the other evil is so horrendous that we are stuck with them. How extremely discouraging! When Bush approval so low, what could they possibly lose by standing up for what is right and patriotic? Feingold for prez.

2. The DNC has no say over individual elected officials
I did write earlier, though, and asked that Howard make a statement in support of Feingold's resolution. (as a loyal Democracy Bond holder)

I don't know how that would work for him, with so few Senators speaking in support so far.

are contacting DNC about. We need to be vocal with the DNC. It is supposed to be our committee, after all.

Does the DNC contact members of congress? How soon would they do that? I don't believe this happens, but if you have some information about it I'd like to know.

make a stand when the public supports us and we are in the right.

Dean is putting his career on the line to change the party, and many here are not aware of it at all....or don't care. The don't care part bothers me because of the motives involved.

Go after the right Democrats and I will support you all the way.

It is exactly what you are calling about...that is the change they are seeking.

It is the leaders of the DSCC and DCCC who are deciding the congressional stands as a rule. At least so far.

I have no gripe with holding the right people accountable.

No gripe whatsoever.

Hey go ahead and be mad, I am so used to it. I am going to post something about which group in the party does what.

17. VERY tired of spineless Dems
I think that pressure needs to be applied. It is otherwise so easy to interpret our silence for approval. I don't approve.

Here's my effort:

It is time for the Democratic Party to offer us an alternative. If you are a rabid, raving conservative, you are well served across the board by both political parties. If you are a progressive with a sense of fair play and a loathing for the practices of the current administration, your representation is slim.

Russ Feingold has finally offered something healthy for our nation: A frank proposal that calls a crime by its name. A recognition of the peril that this country faces in the loss of its most precious liberties. The inevitable Swift-Boating began within minutes.

And what did you do, Democrats? No wonder you have a problem convincing people of your commitment to national security! You can't even defend yourselves. The wall of silence that has been constructed around the Feingold censure proposal has me stupefied.

I don't want a Republican Party with the face of a Joe Lieberman.

I don't want a neo-conservatism with the face of Hillary Clinton.

I don't want polluters and corporate lackeys with the face of Joe Biden.

That's what God created Republicans for.

I want my old Democratic Party back.

The party that stood for something. The party that represented working people and the disenfranchised. The party of prosperity.

The anti-war party.

Anybody home?

this is not about attacking the DNC.

this is not about marginalizing Russ Feingold

this not about saying that the DNC called Feingold a terrorist

this is not about the DCCC

this is not about attacking Dr. Dean.

This is about showing support for Russ Feingold and asking that others do the same.

BTW I called the DNC was treated very well and was thanked for the call in regards to Feingold and
his actions.

I make no apologies for doing that. This thread is attacking the very ones who are trying to change things.

33. Done...here's my message to the DNC...
And since I know the DNC can't do anything POLICY wise and I know they can do a lot regarding who runs...I may have went a bit easy on them.

Please encourage all Democrats to support Senator Russ Feingold in calling for censure of the President. If the majority of the 2006 campaigns are going to be run on the President's innate ability to break the law and screw things up, the campaign themes will ring hollow if the Democrats don't have the general spine to stand with Senator Feingold on the censure resolution.

I'm a Democrat because I thought that this party stood for something. And I feel like I'm being let down. What does this party stand for if not for my inherent rights and liberties? If they choose not to stand up to the Administration out of fear of being called "unpatriotic" or "friends of the terrorists"?

Please don't let me down. And pass the word.

I looked for contact links with the DNC and the DCCC but must have missed them.

So I will happily contact any group that you can give me contact links for. And I will owe you one for it.

I feel like I have to contact groups like the DNC and DSCC because, while as a Floridian you at least have Bill Nelson, I am from Pennsylvania and seriously doubt that my Senators give a shit.

Anyway, I will take the time to contact the people you suggest if you would be so kind as to offer some links.

Thanks.

ON EDIT: I see that you are are unsure about talking to the DNC about this issue. I can't understand why we shouldn't tell the DNC how we feel. Please explain. Isn't it best to cover all the bases?

36. Done. Here's what I wrote:

I am a lifelong Democrat, the child of 2 strong lifelong Democrats. As a Democrat, I am sickened and dismayed at the lack of support for Senator Feingold's proposal of censure against the President regarding the illegal wiretapping.

I stood by and watched the Democrats bend over and take it after the 2000 election. I sat back and watched our country be attacked while under the "watchful eye" of this ignorant administration. I became angered when Sen. Feingold was the ONLY Democrat, heck... the only PERSON in the Senate to vote against the USA PATRIOT Act. I remained a Democrat despite the 2004 election being stolen yet again. I grew livid when Sen. Feingold had very little support in filibustering the Alito nomination. And, now I am enraged at the thought that his proposal of censure will be subjected to the same lack of support from the party as a whole. It's time to fight for our liberties and for justice.

The Democratic party needs to stand up for that in which it believes. We haven't. The party should stop tiptoeing around these controversial issues and fight for what's right. As a Democrat, I am sickened by this lack of fortitude. This party needs to be lead by and follow the likes of Sen. Feingold and stop being so afraid to stir the waters. As a citizen and a Democrat, I am deathly afraid of what will happen if we don't.
