Proud of our House Dems trying to Stop Funding/Permanent Bases/Iraq
Edited on Thu Mar-16-06 05:08 PM by KoKo01
Barbara Lee's and Allen amendment...No Permanent Bases in Iraq! So far I've heard Kucinich, Jane (War is Good)Harmon,Maurice Henchley (NY) David Price (NC), Dennis Kucinich, Jan Shakowsky, Maxine Waters,Jim Moran,

Lynn Woolsey, John Conyers..(the Black Caucus), plus allies they've managed to get to stand with them. Plus Kucinich gave a great Bush lied us into Iraq Speech!

There are many Dems up giving speeches now!

David Price say General Abizaid could NOT assure him that no "permanent bases are planned in Iraq!"

Wow they are ON FIRE!!!! THE AMENDMENT PASSED!!!! IT PASSED...VOICE VOTE WITH NO OPPOSITION.....I hope I didn't imagine this but I heard the Yay's and there were no Nay's and the gavel rang and said it Passed.

Jerry Lewis Repug from CA thanked those who had participated......

I'm going to faint away! ........:bounce:

3. They are voting on the Amendment Package Now...but I think
the Permanent Bases Bill is SAFE because it had a VOICE VOTE.

Waxman has a good Amendment about not awarding any Iraq Reconstruction Contracts to Private Firms that have cheated the Government. He mentioned Halliburton by name!!! And said that over and over this Administration has ignored it's own Auditors, so we shouldn't reward them. But that Amendment didn't pass on the "voice vote." (Bushie Repugs just LOVE Halliburton)

There's a third bill that I don't know what it is but it passed on a Voice Vote, too.

5. Waxman Amendment is opposed by Bill Young (FLA) because he
felt it would stop flo of services from Halliburton right now. He says he would be FOR IT...if he knew more information! Who knows...that one might pass too!

Oops....Duncan Hunter (R-CA) is on now saying that Halliburton employes Americans and over 20 of them have been "killed in action" others are held hostage and he's saying we shouldn't penalize Halliburton for "overcharging" because they employ Americans and they have lost "employees" in Iraq. Hunter is saying that Halliburton has done a GREAT JOB!

Hunter didn't even read the Amendment...And Waxman did a fantastic job arguing with the Repugs...saying they haven't had a chance to look at it, but the Repugs haven't held ANY HEARINGS on their Corporate CEO's of Halliburton for GETTING RICH on RIPPING OFF American People. He caught them in their own lies.!

7. Dems are doing great job of catching Dems in "HYPOCRACY" ...which
they've never known the meaning of. Duncan Hunter is up ripping Dems saying they "have never voted for Military Equipment and saying that the Government does a great job of keeping track of all the expenses for Iraq."

Hunter is "Da Man." They put the screws to him for pushing to stop the "Ports Deal."

8. Waxman saying "Hold HALLIBURTON Accountable for their Overcharges!"
Duncan Hunter is saying we should just use the Law! HA.......WHAT LAWS?

Waxman is now listing what Halliburton has done...the abuses...he's only saying don't give them FUTURE CONTRACTS!
