When did the goals change? |
|
Now all the posts here are damning our Democrats to hell for not supporting Feingold's censure first breath out of their mouth.
But not long ago, the only thing they had to do to please was to support Conyer's impeachment of Bush. We can't impeach, but they had to support it anyway or be damned.
Just before that it was "Out of Iraq" now...not later, now. Nothing was acceptable in a situation that is not black or white now (since we destroyed a sovereign country) but get out right now. No redeploying, nothing. Just get out NOW!
When did the goals change from Iraq to impeachment to censure?
Maybe it is time for those who find the Democrats totally unworthy to present your agenda. List it, wrap it up nicely into neat easy words, then get everyone to agree on it. Then get elected.

public airing this week because the activist base is distracted with a censure that Feingold already moved into committee?
The debt ceiling, ANWR, port security bills are all being targeted by GOPs for votes, because Dems and left media are all distracted this week.
Baucus had a hugely important bill that outed GOPs completely on their lack of sincerity on security and it's getting no discussion.
These are all winning issues for Dems and November, but who is paying attention?

4. They got the food bill through the House, ready for the Senate. |

I have no gripe with Feingold presenting the censure deal, it will bring further discussion. My gripe is with the utter perfection demanded by so many here.
Some don't even discriminate among the Democrats who care about people and ones who don't.
It is hurting everyone badly.

7. I'm for censure but it's moved into committee now where Feingold wanted it |
|
so it would help if Dem activists paid attention to some REAL stuff that will matter in November, too.
Almost everything happening this week was about defining issues. Dean recognized that in the debt-ceiling debate, too.
I can't abide too much narrow-mindedness, especially when it hurts the goals.

8. We are dealing with a constitutional crisis... |
|
We must insist on the rule of law being enforced. If we don't we're fucked.
Sorry, but there is no excuse for backing away from this.

5. I see it as a psychological mechanism for the sheer.... |

absurdity of our reality. Everyone having their own dog to kick makes one feel as though they are actually "acting"...rather than the reality of complete futility. Sometimes I can't believe I still want to inform myself of all the insanity...and those petty but emotional diatribes, filled with platitudes and poppy-cock appear a source to soothe, and refresh.

6. Sometimes when you kick too hard, things die. |

Dogs die, parties can die if kicked too hard or deprived of support and nourishment.
Better to try to change it than kill it.

for powerlessness....and the need for the 'expression' is a symptom of the futility. How can you kill something that isn't real? Perhaps I am too introspective today, so I view the scene as untangible....like a nightmare, and my comments are meant as an explanation for the human behavior...neither right nor wrong...

10. To use the dog analogy |
|
I'm not sure what the so called "leadership" expects when it continually bites the hands that ultimately feed it. Hell, when its not sleeping on the porch while our house is being robbed, this damn dog runs up to burglars wagging it tail.
Many in the base feel more than taken for granted- they feel downright betrayed, especially by the actions of the past 8-10 weeks.
After a dog bites you one too many times and refuses to learn, ya don't pet it or praise it much anymore.
and you sure aren't buying it the premium kibble.
Could be you're thinking of taking it down to the pound.

And yes, I am quite aware of the analogy.
Not all Democrats are bad, but many who come here to post are angering a lot of by not being specific when they are targeting.
To so many it is all or nothing at all. I must agree with them, or I am not with them. Too divisive.
