Computer Problem I am having |
|
For the past three nights at 10:42 PM my Internet connection has gone down and I have been unable to connect to the internet for several hours. Tuesday and Wednesday it lasted for several hours and today almost 30 minutes. I called my Internet provider and they said when I unplug my modem they get a response and when it's hooked to my computer there is no response. So it's not the Internet provdier.
Has anyone else had this problem? What should I do?

Tony but DU has a computer help board and people there know a lot. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=242Good luck to you, there, nothing more frustrating than computer problems (excepting this administration!).

8. It might be an IP address problem. |
|
If your computer is hard coded with an IP address in the network stack, and someone else at your ISP has the same IP address, it will knock you off.
What kind of internet access (cable, DSL, etc.)?

9. Question about your symptoms |
|
You said:
they said when I unplug my modem they get a response and when it's hooked to my computer there is no response.
Me:
I'm confused, because if your modem is unplugged it makes no sense that your ISP could get a response. Your modem is how you connect to the ISP.
