The Feingold Strategy(?): |
|
Move to censure. Get committee deliberations going with as much coverage as possible to educate the public, and incidentally, to let the chickenshit Dems get their feet wet with saying bad things about Bush; let them learn that their approval ratings actually start going up when they call Bush a liar.
Ideally, pass a censure resolution, which (among other things) puts Bush on notice.
When Bush continues to offend the groundwork is laid for impeachment. The Senate is on record having spanked him, and in effect given him a seconde chance to play it straight, so the House (maybe after attaining a Dem majority) can move forward with impeachment articles without looking like they're witch-hunting.

1. Your 3rd paragraph is right on |

I speculated yesterday about what would happen if an actual vote on censure took place and the Dems held together (at least 35 of them)
I speculate that Bush will lash out like an enraged ape...and his behavior will be soooo egregious that even the Repubs in the house would consider it impeachable...
Remember this: he's a spoiled child who cannot accept being disciplined...(remember he called "Poppy" out once for trying to discipline him....same thing will happen here....if we try to discipline him, he'll lash out at Congress in General and Dems in particular.
