BuzzFlash Op/Ed: "Bushevism Now Officially A Cult"
http://www.buzzflash.com/editorial/06/03/edi06021.html

BuzzFlash Now Officially Declares Bushevism a Cult

Let's face it, there are only three segments left to the much-vaunted GOP Base: the corporate profiteers who wouldn't care if Satan was president, as long as they got their pockets lined with taxpayer funded no-bid contracts; the Stepford Evangelicals; and the Bush cultists.

(If you are wondering why the Neo-Cons are not listed here, it is because there are clear signs that most of them now understand that their policy in Iraq has failed. Although there are enough left supporting Bush wholeheartedly that you can and them to the cult list, if you prefer. We won't object.)

Because Bushevism long ago became a cult. After all, what is a cult? It's a movement that is comprised of people who believe in a leader contrary to reality and the harm that the person does them.

That sounds like people who support Bush alright, except for the corporate profiteers (who will always be hanging around for the money, no matter who is in power.)

1. Fair enough...
Wasn't Buzzflash "officially" (ridiculously) deemed a hate site a few years back?

2. That sounds familiar. Well, I guess that would make DU a hate site, too.
And, it's true. I DO hate the lies and the corruption.

5. Interesting
A few years ago while reading an article at their site, at the bottom of it there was some mention of Buzzflash being labeled a "hate" site, but the times we live in are so ludicrous that I figured somebody somewhere, be they a representative of a gov agency or not, would likely "declare" such nonsense.

8. I don't doubt they tried to give that impression,
from what I've see of the site.

3. They have been drinking kool aid, it just hasn't had the
same effect it did in Jonestown.

I often wonder if the *cult would follow suit if * told them? Would they start killing us evil liberals in the streets if * told them to do it?

Creepy thoughts, I need a nap.

6. Think the Coulters, Tweety's, Hannity's have been more into the hard stuff
Kool-ade is only for the peon lemmings. The elite CON whores are into the DC cocktail circuit.

9. Why are so many 65+ y/o Navy lifers "cultists"?
Edited on Sun Mar-19-06 06:39 PM by Seabiscuit
What's in it for them? (Other than the obvious brainwashing that goes on year after year from Rush Limpnuts, Shun Hannity, etc.)

What personal motivation has the Bushistas given them for their fanatical cultism other than feeding their fear and hatred?

Mind you, my wife has an uncle in a community full of such cultists who are mostly retired Navy lifers (none of whom ever saw combat - they all managed somehow to "legitimately" jump ship when their boats went to Vietnam). They are the stupidest people on this planet, regurgitating in everyone's faces all the latest Rovian crap they hear every day on AM radio and FOX TV. What the fuck motivates these walking dead?

And I'm not talking about making people into liberals (I can dream, can't I?), but merely functioning, sane members of polite society.

11. I-Robot
There's going to continue to be a cultural war. Once robotized, they lose their capacity to be human. It's gone forever.

17. Now that I think about it
not many members of Fearless Leader's administration have much in the way of personality. Insecure people don't like being overshadowed.
