I'm a bit torn: How do I feel about technicalvirgin.com?
http://www.technicalvirgin.com/

On the one hand:

It's a weasley concept. You can imagine your smirking kid saying "well i'm TECHNICALLY a virgin - nyahnyah!!". And everyone knows that's as annoying as hell.

It's still focussed on the word "virgin", which I think is indicative of larger issues. The basic common use of the word is religious and anti-woman, imo, neither of which is cool.

They use the catch phrase "Everything Butt: Because you have a future". That's just plain craptacular. Literally as well as figuratively.

On the other hand:

The actual pledge they take doesn't actually seem all that unreasonable. If anything, I might think it's too liberal (lil too freewheeling with the 'me n my friends' kinda thing.

So I dunno - what do I think about it folks?

1. I got my virginity back...
Several years ago. Came with a nice framed certificate and a key fob.

Strangely, I did not much feel like celebrating. :eyes:

7. You're a bit TORN???? Good grief.....too much information!
I think this is a PARODY SITE...that's what I think!!!

From their FAQ:

Are you really encouraging teenagers to engage in anal sex?
No, of course not. Our "Public Service Announcement" is very obviously a parody of "teen abstinence" PSAs, and this site is a parody of "teen abstinence" sites. We feel that the entire abstinence approach to teen sexuality is unrealistic and misguided, and this site is our response to that. We believe that if the current abstinence movement continues to preach total abstinence, it will send the message that only heterosexual vaginal intercourse is "real sex," and that other types of sexual behavior are not "really sex." In that sense, Technical Virgin is intended as a sort of cautionary example.

9. That site is not serious
It is taking a jab at the abstinence programs by promoting anal sex instead. It it is serious I wouldn't want my kids reading that. I'll take care of informing my kids about sex, thank you very much.

11. If anything other than PIV penetration were actually sex...

...then I wouldn't be a virgin.

Signed, a 22-year-old technical virgin/incel.

By the way, NO SEX THREADS!!!!!1

And the site is amusing, and while it's meant to be parody, I do find it a bit snarky when it comes to its attitude towards technical virginity, which is a very real, widespread and, to me, correct viewpoint.
