GOOD NEWS! March 2006 Hurricane Forecast revised DOWN!

BAD News, it's only going to be as bad as 2005, so it's not great news, but it's better than the February forecast, which was worst than the February 2005 forecast.

The April Forecast comes out April 4, 2006.

Here are the links to the PDF files:

March 6, 2006 forecast:

March 7, 2005 forecast:

Here's the link to what I posted last month about the February 2006 forecast: <http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=364&topic_id=438050>

1. Thoughts and prayers for the Gulf Coast.
I wish they had more than that, though, between them and the season. :(

2. This will be the lead story
on all the local news tonight from Galveston to Pensacola. There is an unspoken tenseness in the air.

3. Unfortunately, this is not a new report, I'm just late reporting it here.
The report was issued on March 6, 2006, two weeks ago, so if they didn't report it by now, they might not report it at all.

You might try to get them to report it by pointing out what they missed, but it is just a forecast, and even if it's BETTER news, it's still kind of bad.

Sorry about that, I'll try to report the April forecast in a more timely manner.

Good Luck Gulf Coast folks. :grouphug:

4. I appreciate the post and you are right
The locals have reported on this. Anything related to weather gets big coverage down here, good or bad. Katrina had an effect in your neck of the woods I believe. I was stationed at NAS Atlanta in 93 and remembered the Snow Blizzard of March 93. Pretty cool stuff. It snows down here about once or twice a century.
