Laura Flanders to be on Air America |
|
I just received this email notice:
Dear EmailNation Subscriber,
We're pleased to announce that the new RadioNation show, hosted by author, activist and award-winning radio personality Laura Flanders, will debut on Air America Radio Network tomorrow night, January 7.
Broadcast for three hours each Saturday and Sunday, and available online, the show will feature news and programming from around the country; special remote broadcasts; interviews with Nation writers, editors and Nation Institute journalism fellows; reader call-ins; a weekly journalists' round table; coverage of Nation events; musicians performing live; and cutting-edge political and cultural commentary. A one-hour version will be provided free to noncommercial community and college stations. For general information, click here
RadioNation with Laura Flanders 7:00 to 10:00pm EST each Saturday and Sunday night Air America RadioNetwork
This weekend's show will be a hot one! On Saturday, Flanders will broadcast live from one of the more than 130 "Out of Iraq" events planned for the day nationwide. Sunday's show will feature an update on the legal cases being brought on behalf of the Guantanamo Bay detainees, a journalists' roundtable with Raw Story's Larisa Alexandrovna and The Nation's Bruce Shapiro and a special commentary by Nation columnist Katha Pollitt.
That's one more reason for being thankful for that XM radio Christmas present (I bought it myself!)

She's great. Too bad her show didn't come on other times too. But it's good to have something on Saturday.

2. I am confused. She is already on then. |
|
I have been listening to her at those times for ages, both on Sirius before they changed to XM, and streaming.

But the first half of the article announces she's new. I've listened to her since I've been listening to AAR which is a little while before the 2004 election.

5. The show used to be named "The Laura Flanders Show" - maybe |
|
this means she has a new underwriter. I hope this means that she gets a better engineer or better equipment -- I love Laura, there are more hang ups on callers, more problems with interviews and clips than on any other AAR show. Maybe also better advertising so that more people will find out about the show and Air America.
