New Democratic Talking Point to Win 2006: Bush IS THE Rubber Stamp |
|
Edited on Mon Mar-20-06 04:21 PM by berni_mccoy
This Talking Point could destroy the republicans in this years election. It's not Congress who has been the rubber stamp for Bush, IT'S BUSH WHO HAS BEEN THE RUBBER STAMP FOR THE REPUBLICAN-CONTROLLED CONGRESS!
It has been discussed over and over again that Congress is really just a rubber stamp for Bush's policies that have been doomed to fail. But the reality is, that BUSH HAS NEVER VETOED A SINGLE BILL SENT BY THE REPUB CONTROLLED CONGRESS.
That tells me that Congress is calling the shots, NOT BUSH. Sure Bush has gotten what he wanted: A war in Iraq, Tax cuts for the Corporate America (not to mention BILLIONS of dollars in tax-relief to OIL COMPANIES). But the republicans in Congress has gotten FAR MORE DIRECTLY: MONEY, MONEY and more MONEY. All the republicans had to do to get it was work in lockstep to pass a few bills for special interests and they got their overseas trips, their gifts, their cars, their yachts. Some even created MENUS that described what kinds of favors got lobbyists legislative initiatives addressed. And Bush has signed every single initiative INTO LAW. That's why we are 9 TRILLION DOLLARS IN DEBT with a TRILLION DOLLAR DEFICIT.
Let's AIM THE FICKLE FINGER OF BLAME WHERE IT BELONGS THIS YEAR: On the corrupt republicans controlling the legislative agenda.

Or not really corporate America, but corporate transnationals. There's not much American about them anymore.

as long as it's not a supermajority issue. And even then, there are just enough handful of DINOS that make supermajority vote issues a problem.
