This freeper says we should end miscarriage!
To: madprof98
Both sides should get behind a "save the unborn" movement, if we all decided to end miscarriage, like we eradicated smallpox or polio. An estimated 1/4 to 1/3 of the preborns are aborted spontaneously..that's 1-2 million preborn babies a year! We wouldn't stand idly by if a million children a year died of a new strand of smallpox.

Part of the indifference to the abortion issue stems from our disregard of human life before birth in general.

Am I missing something? I didn't know miscarriage is a disease that we can find a cure for.

32. No,no, no.....they need women
as long as they stay in their place that is. They believe a woman's place is in the home, waiting on their man like god commanded. Women are "the lesser vessel" you see, or so sayeth the bible anyway. As long as you know your place, don't get uppity and leave politics to the menfolk, everything will be just fine with them. Oh, and don;t forget the sex, whenever and wherever they want it. Stand by your man, you know? :sarcasm:

The lack of logic astounds me
I forget the percentage, but an extremely high percentage of fetuses which are spontaneously aborted (read miscarried) are not viable in the first place, like they are missing critical organs, etc.

6. Save for injuries which cause miscarriages...
there is usually a reason why the body will abort a fetus -- there is something horribly wrong with it, or there is something horribly wrong with the mother, among many other things. I don't think it would even be possible to "end all miscarriages", but if it were, I don't think it would be a good idea.

If you believe that human life and personhood begin at conception, then you have to admit that miscarriage and failure to implant in the uterine lining are the leading causes of human mortality, dwarfing everything else. The person is maybe just pointing out their hypocrisy and selective outrage.

11. Yeah,
you're missing that obvious Idiot Gene that most Freepers were born with. Unlike miscarriage, there IS a way to stave off the embarrassing ramifications of this odd genetic mutation that causes one to drag one's knuckles, breathe with one's mouth open and makes it almost impossible to post something that doesn't start with one thinking you're an idiot and finish with them thinking that you definitely need to wear a safety helmet, knee and elbow pads, and a name tag -- complete with emergency contact number -- when you leave home. It's called Honest Information, not to be found in our MSM and certainly not at Free(ptard)republic!

So, yes, you're missing something, but thank your lucky stars. :-)

15. My god, these people are warped
There is a reason NATURE aborts 80% of fetuses, you dumbfuck. Not to give you a safe cause to rally against (what are you going to do, lock women up and force bedrest on any woman of childbearing age having hetero sex you STUPID TWIT?)

Nature knows if you're tanked, or have bad genetic code, the fetus was exposed to pollutants, blah, blah, blah that that will be a fetus that will not survive.

You can take all the heroic measures you want, but you are messing with a system that will end up kicking your ass. A lot of deformed, diseased neonates will live a few days on the greatest medical technology we can offer and then die and leave you with a bill that will completely bankrupt this nation.

But that IS what these fruitcakes are all about, so I expect that forced bedrest to start any day now.

17. Ending miscarriages would be a great idea...
most of those babies might just be wanted by the parents who suffer through that horrendous ordeal. The question, of course, is how? I fear the answer would not involve a lot of praying and such, but would have to involve nasty things like science and modern medicine.

It is always so black and white to those people. If you're not fer us, yer agin' us. Let's all pray. Maybe we can run the whole damn thing back to the fourteenth century or so.

"Does a God of love and life ever support war? Does such a God understand that some innocent civilians will die when we fight to protect our freedoms? In other words, does God approve when we make the decision to kill other people to protect our quality of life?"

If this guy ever picked up an Bible and read it, he would know the answer to these questions!

And that answer to that would be???? My bad... of course... because our prophet George W Bush was told by an angel to go attack Iraq and kill al Muslims.

29. Miscarriage is nature's way of saying oops
this won't work - either the embryo is not forming properly or the host (mother) won't be able to carry it to term. I guess if the freepers want to bring a bunch of severely ill/deformed babies into the world, ending this would be good. However, these same freepers don't believe in WIC, medical care for all or welfare, and that has a big effect on mother and baby - diet and general health.

38. Most American women do not produce enough Progesterone
Estrogen and estrogenic compounds (from pollution and various products we actually use on our bodies and the environment) cause estrogen dominance and inhibit our bodies abilities to produce enough progesterone.

This lack of progesterone (and the synthetic crap doctors put women on doesn't help) causes many health problems in women, and is the number one cause of miscarriage and infertility and a myriad of other scary health problems.

Don't hold your breath for the government to do anything healthy for us. They only thing they care about big business profits and the more they crap the environment up and pad big pharma's wallets, the better.

As for me, I'm stocking natural soy based progesterone cream- I'm sure those bastards will try to limit this too. They are already trying to limit pharmacies selling bio-identical hormones (same as are produced in the body).

48. Probably not these really early ones, which are believed to be
due to genetic malformations; the pregnancy couldn't make a viable baby no matter what.
Early prenatal care mostly involves getting a list of dos and don'ts. There isn't that much that can be done unless they know that a woman has alot of miscarriages, and then they check for progesterone levels, etc.

50. My eldest niece had the same experience late last summer
She knew she was pregnant for nearly a month and miscarried around the 7th or 8th week. Her doctor did run a genetic test on the fetal material and they found a defect that is always fatal to the fetus. Nothing she necessarily has to worry about in the future (spontaneous mutation), but her doctor did say this is the curse of home pregnacy tests. Once upon a time she could have just assumed she was having a late, miserable period. She said she was disappointed when it happened but she knew many early miscarriages were because of problems.

She's pregnant again and is about 15 weeks along now, so things are looking good.

six months later. Another beautiful baby boy.

I swear, we'd had about two weeks of 110+ degree weather here in south tx when I miscarried. It wouldnt surprise me that it had an effect, somehow, on what was going on.

Yeah, it is usually only after having multiple miscarriages that they run tests. They didn't even bother to offer with mine. I saw it, BTW, a very small mass, including the thick mucus around it the size of a pea. It wasn't a baby. It was cells sloughing away that were not going to become a baby.
