4. Me too....
...I watched him wistfully. Ahh, what was stolen from us is HUGE. Gore won!
He cares about the environment...what a concept. He wouldn't have invaded Iraq...he would have paid attention to the memos about Bin Laden's plans...he wouldn't have dismantled FEMA...he wouldn't have given ridiculous tax cuts to the obscenely wealthy. The list goes on and on.
And the man can SPEAK! ( I didn't notice what he was wearing. ;) )

2. We must somehow get Gore to run.
He has the credentials, the integrity and the right message. What more can Americans want? Al unplugged is just who we need.

3. Yeah but did he give an alternative?
The Dems show no "vision" either. People are not going to change unless we give them an alternative. I had a relative of my wife's in my house this weekend. A Bush voter. She couldn't touch me in a debate yet she still kept insisting that Bush was the "lesser of 2 evils". We need a platform, we need some sound bites for the people too stupid or lazy to actually dig for information. Bush is at what... 33% and yet polls show that people still think repukes will keep us safer.

9. Amen! I basically talked about this the other day with respect to
Sen. Harry Reid. Specifically, when he said Bush will go down as the worst President in our nation's history.

My response was: of course he will. We know Bush is a bad man. We understand it. We get it.

But the Democrats must say what they offer the American public in return.

A lot of people out there today don't have hope. And they simply want to know: do you bring me hope?

I have long been saying that the GOP's 1994/1995 Contract with America might have been a bad document policy-wise. It was bad for America.

But strategically, it was a brilliant move. Because it allowed the Republicans to say to the American people: this is what we will do if you give us control of the Congress.

The Democrats MUST do the same.

keep repeating this until it sinks in. Gore, Kerry, or Hillary will surely lead the Democrats to electoral defeat. Regardless of their message. There is a better messenger out there. Gore and Kerry had their chance and fell short. Hillary, well the right hates her with a righteous, blazing wrath, and the left, due to certain decisions she's made, cannot trust her.

Clark is the only Democrat that can win, and win big, in 2008.

Clark's da man.

12. Gore's administration could have prevented the 9-11 attacks IMO
The people like Richard Clarke who were carry-overs from Clinton's term, would have actually been listened to.

When Bush came into the white house there was such a hatred of Clinton, that they wanted to start from scratch and do everything with a clean slate, including make **their own** intelligence assessments... nothing was done on terrorism whatsoever.

Back on topic, WHERE IS THE DEMOCRATIC PLATFORM already?

What, it's not the last minute yet?

It should be front and center in the media, NOW.

(in my opinion)

Get real, folks. Do you all really think that Gore the robot stands a chance? No way.

I haven't seen any "right" person for the Democratic Party emerging yet. I am keeping hoping.

15. I guess you must have missed all the ass he's been kicking for the past
6 years.

(A good place to start getting caught up would be the speech he gave on MLK day. You can probably find it in the C-SPAN archives.)

Absolutely Al Gore. But thanks for your, um, helpful advice.

It's always nice when more helpful advice shows up on DU. Welcome, and enjoy your stay. :hi:
