Bush to Cleveland: "Anybody Work Here In This Town?" WTF?
Like he would know what work is?

After getting frustrated at the length of the Q&A session of his speech in Cleveland today, Bush blurted out, “Anybody work here in this town?” Watch it:

Bush inadvertantly hit upon a subject he otherwise ignored - unemployment in Cleveland. Economic conditions in the city have worsened considerably during Bush’s presidency. Some facts:

- 5.8 percent: Cleveland unemployment rate, Jan. 2006
- 4.5 percent: Cleveland unemployment rate, Jan. 2001

- 5.3 percent: Ohio unemployment rate, Jan. 2006
- 4.0 percent: Ohio unemployment rate, Jan. 2001

- 31.3 percent: Cleveland poverty rate, 2003
- 24.3 percent: Cleveland poverty rate, 2001

So the answer, Mr. President, is that a lot of people in Cleveland don’t work because they can’t find jobs.

18. I agree...
...he's exhibited that attitude before, making nonchalant, nasty remarks at others expense when he grows tired and/or impatient. I recall one of the election 2004 debates when he got antsy. He got more than a little flippant in his responses.

Apparently he's forgotten the major election snafus, in his favor that occured in Ohio. :eyes: Rude and ungrateful--there's a winning combination. Hmmmm...why is Trent Reznor's Bite The Hand (That Feeds) coming to mind?

8. Pissed about all the questions
Apparently he said that when the audience kept asking him unscripted questions for an hour after his 30 minute speech. It was his little "joke" that these people should be at work and not holding him accountable for being preznit.

9. President Clinton would have talked the ears off of the questioners
and the Secret Service would have had to tell him "you have to go now" when he went way over schedule! :) :) :) :) :)

God, I miss Bill. I miss having a president who can speal properly and off the cuff without notes. :(

13. unemployment
the Cleveland 5.8% 2006 jobless rate must be for the Cleveland METRO area. I remember a Bush v Kerry debate that took place in Cleveland in 2004, and the moderator started talking about a 25% unemployment rate in the City of Cleveland.
