Young conservatives, and plagiarism (The two seem to go hand-in-hand)
Edited on Fri Mar-24-06 01:26 AM by brentspeak
From the movie "Heaven Help Us":

Caesar: "Forgive me father: I have committed plagiarism."

Rooney (in the confession booth, pretending to be a priest): "With who - a girl?"

......................................................................................

For your reading pleasure (and for a good laugh), I present to you three links detailing the scholarly plagiarism of three young conservatives: Ann Coulter (did she cheat at UMich law school, too?), Monica Crowley (that's Dr. Monica Crowley, Phd in Int'l Politics from Columbia, which really should take a closer look at the sources in her dissertation), and the latest genius, Ben Domenech (Washington Post blogger), the poster boy for today's College Republicans.

Enjoy.

1. Not surprising. Conservatives hate academia.
But they know they have to get through it if they ever want any hope of making the ever-important dollar, so they just cheat their way through.

2. Don't forget all of the talented writers at Talon News.
They ran a plagiarism chop shop over there before we took 'em down.

Funny thing, though: Apparently nobody sued.

3. Posers...they believe in the degrees of separation, they have no substance.
They are clever, but have no depth. Everything is surface, they court the temporary effect. Sadly, they are destroying our democracy.

4. No imagination. Which is also why we know the GQ article
is fakery.

Not better on paper or in bed or anywhere else.

8. Well, duh.

If you can't think, you have to steal other peoples' ideas and words.

They consider plagiarism intellectual selfdefense.
