The Republican Vs Republican Media Ruse
Edited on Fri Mar-24-06 02:19 PM by bleedingheart
I am watching the news lately and instead of hearing about how the Democrats have been fighting the Republican attempts to destroy our country with tax cuts for the rich, waging the war without end in Iraq and increasing national debt....I am watching as it is being played to the American Public as the "Republicans in Congress are fighting with the President"..."Republicans are criticizing the President"....

and I sit in my house and think....another Rovian plan.

You see the Rove and his cohorts realize they are screwing the American people with their scheme and they don't care. However what they do care about is maintaining control of the Congress and the Presidency until they drive the American economy over a cliff and the American people once more bow down to the Industrialists and Moneylenders...

The problem is that the American people are waking up from the Patriotic rah rah fest that Bush has been feeding them...and they have a really bad aftertaste in their mouth and with almost all branches of government (judicial is on its way) being controlled by the Republicans...The American People are looking at the Republicans and pointing a finger and saying..."what did you do?"

But wait...this can't happen...Rove knows he can't have a lame duck president with a Democratic controlled Senate and House...he needs a plan...and the plan is to inundate the American people via the corporate controlled media with images of Republicans taking on Republicans and minimizing and possibly degrading any efforts the Democratic Party.

In fact, I would count on this mock battle of Republicans battling Republicans to continue with the spin being...."Republicans are the only ones doing anything to battle corruption and the problems..." (even though they are a big part of the problem) and the resulting effect will be to use these mock battles to create all the right campaign ads for the Nov 2006 elections. These ads will be then used to try and convince people to continue to vote for Republicans....

Meanwhile...they aren't doing shit and they are just digging a bigger debt hole and trying to wage more land wars in the Middle East.

I don't know what it will take but what ever Democrats can do to take away the media limelight and direct to themselves...they better do it..even if it means chaining themselves to the White House fencing all the while denouncing the War, the Debt, and the Healthcare crisis and the host of other problems in this country. They also need to unite as a force and pummel the Republicans.....I say throw caution to the wind.

1. Are republican voters THAT stupid?
Republicans make up the majority in both houses.

If they wanted things done differently, they could force their way.

5. The only time it's "News" is when a republican critisizes Bush
When a Deomcrat makes the same critisism, it's treated a partisan whining.

Man bites dog.

6. You are correct,
they stated with the Dubai port deal. When democrats found out about the deal and made it public and the public got outraged, the Repugs stepped up and took credit for stopping the deal. That worked so well, ever since it's repugh against repugh. You don't hear much from the MSM about how the Dem's are working to stop the GOP, all you hear is the Dem's have no plan.

8. Bleedingheart you said it all so well
That is what many of us are seeing on the news and with the talking heads. The Repubs are saying they don't totally agree with bush and then blather about all the issues they want to deal with which is exactly what the Democrats have been saying for years. Sheesh, and it seems to work. You get Prissy Crissy Mathews fawning over the repubs and then Lou Dobbs setting it straight, then Wolfie doing his repub fawning, then we can get more realism with Keith Oberman. What is middle america making of all this? The poll numbers are giving me a glimmer of hope that between the missing women and children being reported heavily they are beginning to see what is really happening to their "oh so reliable country."

Your last paragraph is perfect. Thanks
