Rove, once again, is ghost writing for the New York Times

Headline:

Call to Censure Bush Is Answered by a Mostly Empty Echo

Two sentences into the article, let's make sure everyone knows most Dems are no-show:

Although few Senate Democrats have embraced the censure proposal and almost no one expects the Senate to adopt it, ...

Of course, it's always helpful to Karl when he can actually write the truth.

Then, we have a favorite Republican talking point:

Republicans called the hearing to give the proposal a full airing as their party sought to use the threat of Democratic punishment of the president to rally their conservative base.

Followed immediately by the all-time favorite - if you don't allow us to trash the Constitution and violate law, whenever we please, YOUR A TERRORIST SYMPATHIZER:

Five Republicans at the hearing took turns attacking the idea as a reckless stunt that could embolden terrorists.

Followed by - you can hear Karl chuckling as he wrote this one:

Just two Democrats showed up to defend it, ...

And, it took finishing that drive-by sentence, and two more, to get to the point that the brave Senator Feingold, one of the very few members of Congress actually adhering to their Oath of Office:

"If we in the Congress don't stand up for ourselves and for the American people, we become complicit in the lawbreaking," Mr. Feingold said.

But, by then Karl had long gone to bed knowing no one would read past the headline and the you're with us or your a TERRORIST gauntlet.

Good job Karl.

Sorry, Senator Feingold, you are a hero to many of us citizens, but let's face it, most of your colleagues are gutless corporatists supported by duplicitous consultants enabling the total destruction of our Constitution, or statutes and our stature as anything but a rogue, mass-murdering nuclear empire.

It's January, 1775, everyone.

1. Rove didn't write this, Hillary Clinton and Harry Reid did.

2. I agree. By their absense they make this article seem like a
representation of the truth. They hid like cowards when it was very important that they come out of their hidey holes and defend us, their constituents.

3. I was supposed to be listening to music
but I couldn't turn off the damned hearings.

And, my friend, I don't care what the NYT says anymore, for reasons you agree with.

I think we just witnessed another painful moment for the GOP, as they valiantly (but with certain qualifications) defend their president, while looking towards the future in which his "reasoning" is discredited.

5. "I believe ...," my friend. We must find some way to restore America.
But, it's going to be very, very hard, as you know.

Peace.

7. Too damn hard. But we have the means, then energy, and
the determination to honor the vision that is America.

Peace be with you, and with us all.

6. Agree.
"We the People of the United States of America in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice ..." ... have a lot of work to do to achieve that goal.

Peace.
