Delay changing legal residence to Virginia
so the repukes can replace him on the ballot in Texas.

http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1179853-2,00.html

DeLay said he is likely to leave by the end of May, depending on the Congressional schedule and finishing his work on a couple of issues. He said he will change his legal residence to his condominium in Alexandria, Va., from his modest two-story home on a golf course here in the 22nd District of Texas. "I become ineligible to run for election if I'm not a resident of the state of Texas," he said, turning election law to his purposes for perhaps on last time. State Republican officials will then be able to name another Republican candidate to face Democrat Nick Lampson, a former House members who lost his seat in a redistricting engineered by DeLay.

One last slam, and he's outa there!

12. Sadly, VA is already gerrymandered
The damn repukes did it after 2000. The district lines aren't as bad as in Florida at least. We have 8 repukes and 3 dems. Delay could make it worse though. That's too horrible to think about.

10. What a wimp
Edited on Mon Apr-03-06 10:46 PM by VADem11
He moves all the way to Virginia and what's worse is that Alexandria is a few miles away. I guess being a true Texan doesn't mean a damn thing to him. This can't be just so he can get his name off the ballot. He obviously wants to run before being thrown into jail. How weird is it that his congressman will be Jim Moran? Something to think about.

13. Perhaps his legal trouble will forbid him "moving"
I hope Ole Ronnie earle finds a way to "hold" him in Texas..

You just KNOW that he wants to stay in VA so his "new" job at a stink tank will be possible.. Jobs for disgraced congressman are probably not as plentiful in Texas..

16. Time Props Delay BIG
Regardless, DeLay was forced to vacate his post as majority leader because of a House Republican rule (known as "the DeLay rule," because it was enacted amid concern about his legal situation) that requires a leader under indictment to step down.

Darlings, the Delay rule would made it so he didn't have to step down. It was repealed.

21. Maybe he's doing it so he can fight extradition.
The longer he holds off prison, the less time he'd have to spend before a bush pardon.

23. DeLay is so pathetic as are his supporters
He brags about being a big Texas voice, and then tucks his legs between his tail as Gingrich and Livingston did and got the hell out of Dodge (D.C.).

Self righteous Republicans are so predictable.
