You can't say a jury in DC is likely to be racist against her.

Why is everyone making a big deal about it? If she did something, let her answer for it in a court of law. If she didn't, then she'll almost definitely be acquitted.

1. if she did that 'something'
as described to us by our trusty media people and a retiring capital hill chief,
she would have been arrested on the spot.

3. That is factually incorrect. 'she would have been arrested on the spot'.
the fact that she is throwing out red herrings indicates to me that her behavior is ultimately indefensible.

10. what is red herringish about it?
Seems like a damn good question to me and her lawyer is asking that one as well.
The Capital Hill police chief (who is retiring next week, btw) accounted the story and said the officer 'grabbed' (his words) McKinney then she reacted.

2. No double standard
That's how I feel. If this had been a Republican, many would be have convicted her by now. I agree, let the system handle it. If she's innocent, and I hope she is, that will come out.

If she lost her temper and hit a cop, I think she should take responsibilty.

13. If she had been a Republican, this wouldn't be an issue period
We'd be hearing about a Capitol Hill Guard harassing an esteemed member of Congress.

6. let's see--this happened just a few days ago--a grand jury has already
been impaneled--the repukes are screaming, the dems are waffling and shuffling--and none of this sounds the least bit suspicious?

has there been a grand jury impaneled for cheney's shooting a man in the face?

tom delay resigns in disgrace.

a senior member of DHS is arrested for being a sexual predator--is there 1/10th the discussion of these three events as of mckinney?

9. I seriously doubt its a "special" GJ
With very few exceptions, prosecutors do not enpanel a special grand jury -- thus this case is being handled the same as 100s of other. An existing already enpaneled GJ is handling the case, rather than the prosecutor getting a judge to issue a probable cause warrent and arresting her directly.

At least this way there are 18 peers, and she can testify if she so chooses. Prosecutors often ask a GJ for an indictment in questionable cases to let the GJ sort out whether to charge or not.

8. We haven't had a "justice system" since December 13, 2000....
...why do you think we should trust it?
