I think the GOP would be willing to let Cheney go. They'll let Bush flounder because that is more of a symbol of defeat than Cheney. They can always say Cheney was the black sheep!

This is 1974 all over again..Cheney resigns first,then Bush appoints a VP confirmed by congress,then Bush resigns..However if this happens perhaps somehow someway Congress could pass a law to hold a special election but of course this would not follow the Constitution...But then hell we havent followed the Constitution for the last 51/2 years........
