What changing my name tells you about national security |
|
So after I got married, I changed my name.
First stop... DPS. No problems there other than my picture sucks
Next stop... bank, no problem there other than lack of money
Last stop... SS office. Problems there. I almost couldn't get my new card because they have my birthday wrong. I am pretty sure that I know my own birthday, which is 18 days after they think it is.
While getting my SS check 18 days earlier then I should is not really a problem with me, the fact that nothing gets double checked is.
I have had 3 passports, multiple driver's licenses, many jobs. Nothing was ever brought to my attention. That means, get one fake document and you can get the rest since nothing is double checked. Terra.

1. I'll tell you a story. |

The INS won't take your personal check if you use a passport as ID. I'm not making this up. They'll risk the country, but not $600, on the presumed authenticity of your passport.
