Consider this scenario which presents a Rock and Hard Place Situation

Suspend for a moment what we know about WMDs. Consider instead a scenario where Saadam really did have WMDs. If that had been true instead of FLASE, then would not Bush be guilty of planning and executing a war that did include enough forces to seize those dangerous weapons. Would this not be another example of ineptness and incompetence of this administration.

The truth is that the administration did execute a plan that resulted in munitions being seized by groups which are now using them in to do violence. That those weapons are not weapons of mass destruction are only the results of the fact that they did not exist. Otherwise, the Iraqis and our troops would be suffering greater death and destruction.

I find this is an interesting conundrum, Bush is either criminally incompetent because he has the country in a quagmire because he didn’t know, or, he is criminally incompetent because he went to war without a sound plan to secure WMDs and therefore allowed someone, who we don’t know, to come into possession of those weapons.

Sounds like a rock and hard place to me.

1. No connundrum there.
He's a criminally incompetant liar who has achieved exactly what he set out to do.

He has ensured the continuing growth of terrorism,
he has castrated America,
and he made himself and his buddies unimaginably wealthy.

2. lets remember most thought there were wmd's. so even if there were
wmd's that wasnt good enough reason to go to war. americans didnt want to go to war just becuase of that. bush and his people had to lie to get the support by sayng there were drones that were going to carry the wmds to the u.s. and that they were on the verge of creating mushroom clouds and that they had aluminum tubes to make nuclear bombs. so wmds are really not the issue. it was a given that they would be there. finding them or not had nothing to do with anything. that was just the extended outrage that there was not even any wmds

for your question though. remember back to the beginning. the rush to get to baghdad the lack of soldiers and the non securing of the weapon sites. abosolutely if there was wmds they left themselves open. as it is much of the weapons that fighters have are the very weapons that were not secured because there was not enough tropps so yes your conclusions would be correct

damn good thing there were no wmds for them to use on iraqis and americans
