Feingold: Bush censure proposal won't be linked to CIA leak
WASHINGTON — Sen. Russ Feingold, who wants to censure President Bush for authorizing warrant-less domestic wiretapping, doesn't want to link his proposal to news about White House leaks of prewar Iraq intelligence.

"I don't think we should take the kitchen sink approach," Feingold said.

Feingold was strenuously attacked by Republicans and marginalized by fellow Democrats last month when he suggested a presidential censure. And he suffered similar criticism when he became the first congressional lawmaker to call for a timetable for withdrawing troops from Iraq.

But his position on both the censure and withdrawal from Iraq is appearing less extreme now that some Dem-ocrats are agreeing with him publicly.

1. I think it's good to stay focussed
Less likely to be accused of being desperate by throwing in anything he could find.

Any one of these scandals is worthy of censure, but putting alll your energy into one point is a good strategy.

4. They are linked in one cosmic way however
Nothing will happen with either one.

5. Great. Leaves the door open for another censure call for another
impeachable offense.
