what about the illegals hired as nannies, etc by repub cabinet,, congress, |
|
media??? by democrats too, of course
Didn't some Clinton cabinet nominees lose approval b/c of this? and at least 1 W nominee??
I have the impression a great number of wealthy families hire illegals to be nannies, housekeepers, gardeners, etc.
Shouldn't there be a big investigation/expose of this hypocrisy?

2. It would be nice to have real numbers |
|
but I'll bet a lot of repubs have illegals, in their homes as nannies and maids. And without any real numbers I'll also bet that a large number of farmers, ranchers, growers, etc. who vote repub. hire most of the farm workers. At least in this state.

IIRC, Zoe Baird was not paying her share (that is, the employer's share) of Social Security tax on a nanny she had hired.
I don't recall whether the nanny was in the United States legally or not, but I think she was.
She just wasn't being paid properly.

5. Linda Chavez, bush's nominee |

for Sec of Labor. Anyone else remember her? I wondered if the "quest worker" program was really a way for bush's cronies to get off the hook.

Nor the waiters, dishwashers, caddies, gardeners and parking valets at the exclusive Country Club where they don't admit the "wrong" sort of people. Just as long as they all magically disappear at the end of each day, go back to their shacks on the wrong side of the tracks and remain invisible until needed again. And let's lower the minimum wage while we're at it.
