Never Underestimate The Power Of Fear |
|
Edited on Tue Apr-11-06 04:35 PM by cali
Don't think the American people will support bombing of Iran? Think again. Frame and package it right, and they'll fall for it. First the administration has to scare enough of the citizenry by amplifying the message that Iran is a scary, scary place with evil intentions. Make frequent allusions to Ahmadinejad as Hitler like and more of a threat than Saddam. Then, create the illusion that the threat is not only real but imminent. Throw in the great threat that Iran poses to Israel. Be sure to emphasize that an attack will only be on the nuclear facilities, not on the people of Iran, who we love and want to see enjoying the fruits of democracy.
It'll take several months, but once enough of the lies are spread, they'll take the chance that when the bombs begin to fall, the American people will reflexively back the president.
Just don't think they can't sell it.

1. Freudian slip? You used Iraq in your text! |
|
But you are right, Bushco can use the same sales pitch as with Iraq, just change the 'q' to 'n'. The sheeple will buy it and go into a flag waving frenzy right into the abyss.

Thanks for pointing it out. Fixed it.
It's depressing to think he could pull this on us twice in less than 4 years, but I don't have much fairh that people will be able to withstand the onslaught of propaganda they're unleashing.

3. And also never underestimate the stupidity of the American people. |
|
I was having dinner not that long ago with a couple of wing nuts :eyes: and one of them said she supported Bush because she trusted him to prevent an attack on the US.
I replied: Like he did on 9/11? Maybe he should have done a little reading instead of engaging in all that anti-Clinton rhetoric.
Silence. Another cosmo.

7. But there's also 'You can't fool all of the people, all of the time.' |
|
This is starting to come true I think. As credulous and inclined to support Bush as so many people are, most people inherently recognize that there really WASN'T compelling reason to invade Iraq.
So a lot of the "credibility capital" has been expended.

8. I've heard many repubs |

saying that we should nuke Iran and all those countries, etc., many times in the past. I wonder how they feel now? I will get the low down on what they think about it during Easter.

9. And two years later or less, the citizens will learn the truth - after |
|
thousands of kids are dead and dismembered. Thue number of Iranians dead? What part of their infrastructure will be decimated? How many mosques and treasure will be wiped out and stolen?
The worst is that these dummies never learn. The Rumsfeld team and the believers.
