I can't help but wonder about all of these retired Generals |
|
coming out about Rumsferatu now. Batiste said on The News Hour that there was no organized effort to come out and request Rummy's resignation. But Batiste was in Bosnia, so I wonder if retired General Wesley Clark enlisted him to speak out. If he did, I think it's cool. If he didn't, I think it's cool anyway.

1. we should really worry about this, IMHO. I think this means something |
|
really really bad is coming and they know it and want to distance themselves.

I cannot remember a time when so many general officers spoke out publicly. EVER! Maybe there is a DUer that knows if during Vietnam many generals spoke out. I think they are distancing themselves and I think they are scared spitless at what these guys might do.

3. And remember the blivet saying ad nauseum that he abides by |
|
the decisions of the military? So what's not to listen to? This is even more crucial; imo he's just being a stubborn ass, as usual.

8. The just mentioned this on KO on MSNBC. |
|
The Imperial Blivet selects a few trusted people to delegate everything to so he doesn't have to listen to anyone. There has never been a less interested president/CIC.

4. Honestly I think they are really worried |
|
that this * cabal wants to and will use Nukes against Iran....and they know that the fallout from such a move could cause WWIII and that the war would be fought on US soil along with other countries...
Scares the shit out of me...

5. Yes I agree, something is up with this? Why now? |
|
I have been thinking that is has to be organized. How it works is that the active duty generals can not say anything so they ask the retired stars to do it. Why? And why now?

6. Rumsfeld hasn't listened to them from day one... |
|
Edited on Thu Apr-13-06 06:23 PM by cynatnite
Rummy ignored them when they voiced concerns over Iraq. Now, with Iran on the table the Generals won't take it any more.
On NBC news tonight it was reported that Rumsfeld is arrogant and verbally abusive to the military. The man has no respect for the military at all.
I would have to look up 200 years of American history. With the exception of the civil war, I don't recall anything like this ever happening.
This is a military revolt of sorts against the civilian leadership.

7. The difference between a "Good" officer and a "Bad" officer |
|
is that a "Good" officer does not egregiously expose to his people to risk for frivolous reasons.
These guys are pros -- and they see what Bush and Rummie are doing.

9. New reply to my OP from husband: Rummy hates the Army because |
|
they are expensive. Rumsferatu hates paying salaries and bennies for 500,000+ soldiers and would rather invest in technology, and have a much smaller army. Too bad if they are tired all the time from back-to-back deployments. So, it is really a matter of policy, and Bush* lets Rummy write the policy.
