Such people deserve to die. I don't think it's the STATE's place to do it.

There's ample historical reason, as well as just theoretical reason, to not entrust that kind of power to the State.

Just my $.02

3. where is the proof that death is a penalty.. no scientific proof or otherwise

and they are going to just accept Jesus on their last breath.. there are not atheists in the electric chair.. why F'n bother if you just send them to heaven.

the most disturbing thing about the death penalty is that politicians promise to execute prisoners in custody if elected.. this smacks of a blood sacrifice for their vote.. especially considering all the research has proved it does not stop capital offenses, it actually increases capital offenses.. the kill all the witnesses to avoid the death penalty.

4. I say only God himself can mete out the death penalty
Edited on Sun Apr-16-06 01:00 PM by StopThePendulum
I think He's the only one allowed to take a life he created. Who the hell is the state to think it can usurp God's authority?

I say God didn't die and leave the state in charge.......but of course, we can make a few exceptions
