Something I've noticed about "Hannity & Colmes".
I usually watch a few times a week because nothing else is on at 9:00 and it keeps my blood pressure up. I usually have fun giving the finger to Sean or cheering Colmes on his occasional left jab like watching a WWF cage match. It's not hi-brow entertainment, but it is entertainment.

Well the last two weeks that minor pleasure has been taken away.
Why?
Because of the bad news emanating from Washington on everything Buxh.
Every DUer can name the scandals as they count the fingers of both hands, but on H&C....
"The top story of the day is from Aruba." (one year ago next month)
The second "big story" is the Duke rape case. (six weeks ago)
Then they follow up with a "be afraid of Mexicans" segment.
Finally an interview of whoever has a Newscorp™ book out.

That's it.
No Republicans
No Democrats
Just tabloid journalism....Every night.

Then, midshow they had the nerve to bring out Greta Van Susteren to give a peek at "what she has in store for tonight":
Aruba and the Duke rape case.

According to Fox news there's nothing new in politix to discuss.
Nothing.

I wish Olberman did a three hour show.

1. Oberman a 3 hour show. You and me both. I can't take the other bull
ahit that passes as news.

2. That's because Colmes isn't allowed to bring it up
And Hannity is too much of a coward to bring it up. When was the last time Faux news reported Bush's poll numbers from a reputable source? Only ones I have seen is from Faux itself.

10. That's because Colmes is as much liberal as Zell Miller is.
Come on, you think Faux would actually pay a democrat? Please... that would be like Exxon/Mobil hiring actual environmentalists.

3. Amazing to what extent they go to not report the news.
I'll bet they miss the good ole days of real exposes with national implications, like Travelgate....

4. They're scrambling . . . they see their gravy train . . .
Slowing to a stop. Hannity's model is unitary: liberals bad. If they have anything more complicated than this week's vanished white girl or wicked exotic dancers snaring innocent young men in the coils of sin, they begin to lose their audience, which frankly can't quite process the information that fast.

5. What are they going to discuss? Price of gas? Iraq War? Palestinians?
New Orleans? The price of medical care? Hemorrhaging of good jobs to outsourcing? Trade imbalance with communist china?

Better stick with the Dukes, right?

6. How true
They can only trot Ollie North out so many times a week to shake his head and say: Allen, Allen, Allen, You just don't see the big picture in Iraq.

I almost feel sorry for the wing-nuts who, I'm sure, would tune in to hear Hannity raise his voice and dress down a guest spitting out: "You and your liberal friends...."

They must feel it's an end of an era.
I'm sure they know there are political issues this month...but they don't have a voice anymore to defend the indefensible.

7. You bet, and the longer this bush thing plays out, the more stuff they
have to try and ignore.

Wow. That is a very true & very powerful statement. I hope the rest of the rw mouthpieces also lose their voice. :)

15. By that I mean

I hear rush limbaugh focuses these days on rape and illegals.
I turned off some Fox show Saturday when the anchor said "everybody wants to know about this Duke story".
Now H&C are pushing aside politix all together. (2nd week)

The wing-nuts are trying to simply ignore Buxh's bad news and report on tabloid stories. Fans of the network have to tune in outside the "community" to find any hard news from DC....and they will.

Fox is probably hoping an illegal alien will rape a pretty college girl who's missing from New Orleans. They'll be set for a month.

on edit:
Go look over at Free Repub...It's boring as heck these days, and the very few replies there indicate it's not just me who thinks so.

8. Something I've noticed about Hannity & Colmes:
It would be vastly more entertaining if Alan Colmes would, one night, reach under his side of the desk, pull out a Louisville Slugger fungo bat and beat Hannity into a slightly damp pink froth.

I look forward to the video file of that being posted on Crooks & Liars with great anticipation.

9. Move along people, nothing to see here!
That is unless you're concerned about missing white girls or Duke lacrosse players. Another reason to hate that ass clown Sean Hannity. :argh:

11. Since when has Colmes ever gotten in a "left jab?"
He looks like he's going to break down and cry every time I've seen him. It's embarrassing.
