7. I read somebody trying to pin the blame on Gore (yet again)

they were pointing out that Gore wanted the high prices to turn people off from using gasoline.

Yeah, I remember them screaming about how gas prices under Gore would go from 1.15 a gallon to about 1.50 or so . . .
