were stumped.
I turn polar bears white
and I will make you cry.
I make guys have to pee
and girls comb their hair.
I make celebrities look stupid
and normal people look like celebrities.
I turn pancakes brown
and make your champane bubble.
If you sqeeze me, I'll pop.
If you look at me, you'll pop.
Can you guess the riddle?

does anybody know what the answer is, because we are stumped!?

22. Well *I* don't know.

Maybe polar bears are, like, all brown and fuzzy in the womb and get bleached gradually during the gestation process. By ethanol. Produced by the mom. In her womb.

Or something. :silly:

Air does not make guys have to pee.

Time does not make polar bears white (they come out that way).

etc....

28. Actually - polar bears are not born white - so time does change
them. ( which i agree with) ...and Cold wind (air) makes guys want to pee (cant say i agree with that one)

"Polar bears are white because the pressure at the poles is low, so they have to be able to absorb heat."

I'll go with it.

13. Maybe it's a riddle contrived by a 3rd-grader with a limited understanding
of the world?

I don't see any single answer that fits the criteria (regardless of how liberally you interpret it).

14. Don't Be. It's A Waste Of Time. The Answer Is Merely Yes Or No,
depending on how strict it is interpreted. The answer is either "Yes, I can guess, though it may not be right" (depending on the interpretation), or it is "No, I cannot" (if it is assumed the question meant accurately).

Riddles like this have one purpose only. To see if the starter of it can make himself feel superior to others, and if so how many, by laughing as they waste their time solving a riddle that never was. That is the ONLY purpose of this riddle. To look down on those trying to solve it, laughing all the way, thinking "I don't believe they are really trying to solve it". Trust me on this. Don't feed into it, and don't waste any more time trying to figure it out. It is what it is, an empty riddle meant for mockery. Trust me, the answer is either yes, no, or simply "who cares, it's not a real riddle". :)

18. Polar bears look white but their hair is actually hollow -
"the long, coarse guard hairs, which protect the plush thick undercoat, are hollow and transparent. The thinner hairs of the undercoat are not hollow, but they, like the guard hairs, are colorless."

So the answer has to be, at least for the bear, air!

"The hair of a polar bear looks white because the air spaces in each hair scatter light of all colors. The color white becomes visible to our eyes when an object reflects back all of the visible wavelengths of light, rather than absorbing some of the wavelengths."

http://www.loc.gov/rr/scitech/mysteries/polarbear.html

But they're still neat looking!

So says my teenager, who had this riddle passed on to her.

When she gets home, I'll ask her how/where she got the answer.

29. This post on "English" board has a pretty good answer
The Answer is Time...as defined in this (Anon?) Poem
http://www.englishforums.com/English/ITurnPolarBearsWhite/12/cjpqr/Post.htm

TIME.

Has no one paid attention?

The time has come,
winter is here
and those yellow bears disapear.

The time has past
as man looks back with a sigh
and a tear in his eye.

As time is held
boys cross their legs
but of course the toilet begs

As time marches on
Girls loose their blush
and swap a comb for their brush

As time passes
For those held high
their end is nigh

As time catches up
Everyone is equal
When we get to the final sequel

As time turns
Without it we have flour and water
With it we have breakfast for my daughter

As time revolves
How does one turn water and wine
into something so fine

As time runs out
The more in a minute you try and squeeze
the less you can do with ease.

As time ticks
All the time that has past
man cannot comprehand something so vast.

Personally i like the Chuck Norris answer better..

32. I'm Perplexed At How Many Are Still Taking This Seriously.
It is not real. There is no riddle. There is no answer. It only exists to manipulate those who can't understand that into actually wasting their time debating the answer. This isn't an opinion, and I believe it is fairly obvious. Are people just discussing their answers for fun, even though they know there is no real answer or riddle to begin with? Or are you all still under the guise that a true answer exists?

If it is the former, it's all good, at least you know it is farcicle. If it is the latter, then I feel for you all LOL

34. I see your point completely, and that is why I offered my first answer
which is the same my daughter was told to the same "riddle" -- "Nothing"

But, after having read the poem that the other poster posted, "Time" seemed as good, or even a better answer. It's all for fun. ;)

36. That's Cool. Nothin Wrong With Playing With It.
But for the record, the fact someone wrote a poem in response to the riddle means that same poem can't be used as the answer to it LOL

37. You Lighten Up. It's Never A Waste Of Time To Inform.
I'm lookin out for y'all, that's all. It is a farcicle riddle and I felt the need to inform those that may be taking it seriously of that fact. I did say though, that if it was just being debated for fun that's cool, but I just wanted to make sure people realize the riddle is fake before they get too emotionally invested in it LOL

I like riddles too. Solving Mensa brainteasers was one of my old favorite pastimes. But this one doesn't count. It isn't a riddle. It only exists to mock you, don't you realize that? LOL
