Military advisers on cable news shows are briefed by Pentagon?
I read this story earlier today but could not find the link again. But it seems that most of those military experts, retired Colonels and Generals, are briefed by the Pentagon. Why does this matter? Why should we be getting propaganda from the Pentagon disguised as independent analysis? Shouldn't they be more open about this connection?

1. I didn't know that and "Yes" they should be more open about this fact.

2. No...they are "Independents" hired for their "non-partisanship" by our
Media who want at LEAST their MILITARY to be "fair and balanced."

What's your problem with them. Of course they meet with RUMMY ...constantly...how else could they pick up their "dual paychecks."

Military pay is really low...one has to "make ends meet, somehow."

3. Jim Lehrer had two generals on...

one who was against the generals who spoke out, saying it was an attempt to remove a cabinet official, in an effort to change policy, and that was wrong. The other general, brought up the ex-generals who offered their expertise during the initial phases of the Iraq Invasion, saying they were not only briefed by the Pentagon, but were paid a healthy chunk of change, and were in effect pushing policy, but the blow-hards had no complaints at that time.

5. Its been going on since there were military reporters.
So this is not really news IMO. The real issue is if they barter favorable stories for access.
