BUSH on gas prices: "DON'T BUY GAS IF YOU DON'T NEED IT"
Edited on Wed Apr-19-06 12:59 AM by Bluebear

That's what he told only months ago. Let them eat fucking cake, right, "W"? While you promote the global instability that is driving prices higher and higher and higher. To the sheer delight of your rich oil buddies and your Saudi "family".

Keep on beating those war drums, "W". Keep destabilizing Middle Eastern countries one by one, "spreading freedom". Maybe we'll be up to $100 a barrel "right soon". (That's plain, down-home Texas talk, "cowboy".)

Still "want to have a beer with him", Bush voters? Still enjoying those pump prices on the way to church, fundies? Still have SUCKER stencilled on your foreheads? Or is enough fucking enough??????

49. Arrogant A$$hole, Big Time!
Anyone who paid the least bit of attention to what he did to the people of Texas while he ruled here, would have known what the was going to do to the rest of America. It didn't take a genius to see that he would screw us all for the benefit of his base, The Elite and his corrupt campaign contributors. Morans!

2. And who needs the stuff, anyway? Huh?
We NEED that energy to burn signs all night long along the interstates -- for Tire Kingdom signs, and the signs of other stores, too. Even if we don't really want to go tire-shopping at 4 in the morning, we want that sign ON, dammit.

Even if the store's CLOSED. Burn that sign! Let it shine over the hills and dales of the country!

We may have to bomb the piss out of Venezuela and likely thousands more innocent civilians will have to die or be maimed, but it's worth it so we can see the Tire Kingdom sign 24/7.
_____

Mr. Bush's ability to communicate is about as sharp as his Commander-in-Chief skills. I bet we could do without those all-night signs for closed stores, coast to coast.

http://www.bushwatch.com/gas.htm

"Department of We Told You So.

in today's New York Times..."WAYNE, Mich., June 27 -- Gov. George W. Bush of Texas said today that if he was president , he would bring down gasoline prices through sheer force of personality, by creating enough political good will with oil-producing nations that they would increase their supply of crude. "I would work with our friends in OPEC to convince them to open up the spigot, to increase the supply," Mr. Bush, the presumptive Republican candidate for president, told reporters here today. "Use the capital that my administration will earn, with the Kuwaitis or the Saudis, and convince them to open up the spigot."""

BUSH OIL SCANDAL? BUSINESS BUDDIES REWARDED.

"George W. Bush's call last year to help beleaguered independent oil producers resulted in a $1 million tax break for the company of former Bush business partner Richard Rainwater, according to state records. Pioneer Natural Resources Co., based in Irving, was the biggest beneficiary of the tax cut, which Mr. Bush expedited with an emergency declaration because of low oil prices. Mr. Bush urged the Legislature to take action to help small oil producers because of "desperate conditions" in the oil patch. According to state tax records, Pioneer reaped a $1 million savings in severance taxes, the most of any company that got relief. Mr. Rainwater engineered a 1997 merger that created the company and is its largest single individual stockholder.

"It's a practice we see throughout this administration," said Tom Smith of Public Citizen, a nonprofit consumer watchdog group. "We have to ask whether or not this is another opportunity for Bush to benefit his business buddies." ... Mr. Rainwater, a $100,000 contributor to Mr. Bush's 1994 gubernatorial campaign, was a partner in the Texas Rangers and other energy and real estate concerns with Mr. Bush. Records indicate the partnerships accounted for most of Mr. Bush's earnings before he was elected governor in 1994. The subsequent sale of the Texas Rangers in 1998 earned Mr. Bush $16 million on a $600,000 investment and has provided the bulk of his wealth, according to tax records. In a 1994 interview, Mr. Rainwater said, "George Bush happens to be one of about 100 people that can make the statement that their involvement with Richard Rainwater has had a very positive effect."

11. Bush buys gas just for fun!
Every time we see him "cutting brush" with his chainsaw just so he can look macho.

If he had any cahones he would demand NASCAR shorten its races, to conserve fuel for those that really need it, seeing that there is a war on. Fat chance.

I commute to work via the Internet. It means that I only fill up about every other month.

I feel very bad for commuters who are now spending huge amounts of money to drive to work. I just wish that more people had mass transit available.

Republicans were making a huge issue of gas spiking up to $1.79 a gallon (or something).

Hoo boy that whole family is just so Marie Antoinette it makes me choke on my cake.

First he encourages every gullible so-and-so in the nation to buy a damn urban assault vehicle and write it off on their taxes (remember that thing about up to a hundred grand write-off if you bought it for your business?) -- and now he says don't buy gas unless you need it.

Q: How many Bushes does it take to fill up a tank with gas?
A: None. That's what they have the American people for.

In southwest FLA, a the local radio classic rock station opened up the spigots and are letting listeners know what the deal is: "$3 a gallon gas and Bush is still working on getting it higher."

Greg Palast said the reason for the invasion wasn't to secure Iraq'a oil; it was to limit supply in order to drive up prices.

62. That analogy
is the exact reason we're all screwed, whether the supply of oil is running low, or if the companies are manipulating prices.

69. $51 yesterday for 3/4 of a tank.
I know I read it here some time ago - some quote from Dickhead Cheney during the Clinton Presidency about how oil above $20 a barrel is the sign of a failed presidency. Oh how I wish someone would throw that back at him now.

75. prices are NOT going up because of wars or any other bs being
fed thorugh the media - prices are going up to feed cheney and corporations - remember they have had record profits - they are still haveing record profits -

oil shortage or price raising is the same as the 70's - this is the same bs as Nixon era
