Gas stations running out of gasoline in my area, not being reported.
My wife tried to buy gas, the station had a sign that said "out of gas." Other friends have encountered the same, I know of 3 incidents just yesterday.

I have not seen this happen since 1973.

My guess is that people are filling up early in fear of the price continuing to rise. There is no news of shortage.

But if it is a shortage developing, if there are ever gas lines again, that will be the end of Bush more surely than if they caught him in bed with Elton John and a donkey.

1. I thought that they had already caught him in bed with Elton John &
a donkey.

Let me think, just how did Scottie and Rove spin that?????

The die hards will make excuses as always.

I had never been at that station before so I don't know if it was unusual but still.....

3. I spotted one the other day
It had kept its price slightly below neighboring stations and sold out. Three others on the same road had gas, though.

4. Haven't run into that problem here in Texas, Yet!
I did top of my car yesterday for the reason you posted, i figured it was just going to get more expensive my as well top it off.

I suspect that the powers to be see us peons getting upset with the price of gas at the pump, they'll create an out of gas scenario to make as all feel grateful that we can still buy gas at any price.

I really dislike these people, no soul and eyes of sharks.

5. Interesting, out of gas in NJ
I had heard a few weeks ago of energy analysts predicting shortages this summer in the Houston area and California due to a shortage of ethanol for the summer blend gas, but nothing about shortages anywhere else. Have to keep an eye on this, I keep twenty gallons of gas in reserve, might have to up that amount.
