(Jeannine) Pirro Files Solo Again (won't file return w/ convict hubby)

NEW YORK (AP) -- Republican attorney general candidate Jeanine Pirro filed her 2005 federal and state income taxes separately from husband Albert Pirro, who served time in federal prison for tax fraud charges.

The former Westchester County District Attorney reported earning $150,411 dollars last year, including $12,500 for paid speeches. A spokesman said Mrs. Pirro has been filing separately since 1995.

Pirro was criticized during her husband's trial for signing joint returns before 1995 that were under investigation. Albert Pirro was convicted in June 2000 of hiding income by disguising personal spending as deductible business expenses. He spent 11 months in prison.
