7. Where's Iran going to get enough nuclear material for a dirty bomb? |
|
they only have a tiny amount of 3.5% enriched Uranium. Unless they have been smuggling sweepings of DU from Iraq it would be impossible to obtain.
This just another scaremongering thread.
Do you feel the need to poll about the next scariest nation because the "Iran is about to attack!" threads have worn thin?

19. I would imagine that the truly bold and highly-motivated... |
|
I would imagine that the truly bold could come come up with a way to lift a few kilos of spent fuel.
But see, that's the really cool part about an NBC weapon: You don't even need it to be effective! You only need it to "trip" the monitoring systems and society will do tons of damage for you in the ensuing panic!
The amount of radionuclides needed to achieve *THAT* threshold could almost certainly be met from any big hospital's pharmacy.

With Bush's enviromental record a dirty bomb might not show up aginst background levels.

24. I'll take that as sarcasm. |
|
For all of the woes we have with pollution of the air, water, and ground, there isn't that much nuclear material floating around most days.
Look at how most of the west learned about Chernobyl: Nuclear detectors started going off all over Scandinavia.
If a radiological weapon were detonated in America, you can bet that somebody would know about it. It's quite likely our government would try very hard not to tell us about the radiological aspects of the blast, but but they'd know about them.

25. not sarcasm unfortunately, it seems that anyone with a pick-up can |
|
build a dirty bomb. My original point was why single out Iran. There gave been a lot of Muslim bashers trying to whip up hysteria in GD and GDP recently. This thread is yet another trying to sustain the panic.
The main driving force behind all of them is bigotry.

this can still happen. President bush is a miserable failure and all his fighting over there so we don't have to fight them here is complete nonsense just as we all suspected. But I would still think it was Al Queda

then I would go to a hospital and get checked out probably followed by a shower at home.
Then I would sit back and watch them try to cover for themselves (No attack since 9/11* huh?)
