2. Krugman used that comparison in his latest column |
|
Population of states where Bush still has approval over 50% = ~8 million. Population of NYC is ~10 million.

4. And have eight senators, vs. two for NY |
|
In other words, the electoral map is rigged in favor of the nazis.

17. Woah now, that's a few centuries worth of "rigging" |
|
And it's a "rigging" I happen to agree with. You need to have a body like the Senate, even though it doesn't quite favor us.

The population of NYC is around 14 million. That number times 3 is 42 million. If you add up Ohio, Florida, Texas, Georgia, and North Carolina you easily get over 42 million.

I was at the store before one of Bush's momentous speeches and a woman by me said I'm going to go play the slots, I don't want to go home and listen to that liar on TV. Apparently her husband was going to watch the speech and she didn't want to be there. I just smiled, then looked around to see the facial expressions on the other customers--there were a few that looked like they sucked on sour grapes. It was funny!

18. that isn't what the op said |
|
those were clearly red states in the election. His overall approval rating has nothing to do with it otherwise. If she said what Krugman said, then she was indeed right. But that isn't what the OP said, she said.

8. None of those states are "approving" of Bush currently. |
|
Only Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Nebraska are currently over 50% in approval of Bush. http://www.surveyusa.com/50State2006/06041850StatePOTUSState.html

There are only 4 states where he has a majority approval rating. They're not populous, so their entire population is less than New York City.
